The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Got the 9070xt reaper for my pc because it is the the thinnest card and I have a SFF pc but I really hate the sound of the fans when they spin up. Really audible annoying pitch.
Got it for MSRP so was pretty happy but now not sure I caan live with this as my PC is on my desk. FML.
What are the thermals like? I got mine for MSRP (not shipped yet) but I'm a bit worried about the performance given the spartan design.

There are a couple of things you can try. First is an under volt. To give the card less power. Until mine turns up I cannot be specific. You can also try limiting the max clock speed. The other thing is to try to maximise the venting on your case. A fan extracting air from the top rear of your case will do wonders. Last thing change the fan curve.

This is not what I wanted to hear. Is it all the time?

Just finished installing

Had a quick play around with tuning on my Pulse 9070, will do more later. These are some results using the built in stress test running for 90 seconds each.

Stock - Ignore 0RPM, screenshot taken when they slowed down

Auto Tuning 102Mhz offset

Manual - 120Mhz Clock - +10% Power - 2530Mhz VRAM

What are you hitting in-game?

That would drive me nuts. Can't bear noisy fans.

Got a Pulse XT, the default power limit on this thing is a bit silly, on mine I can drop to -10% power limit, -120 voltage offset, and bump the ram freq to 2720 and end up with about 3-5% more performance at about 270 W (-150 mV, 2750 MHz runs benchmarks but I don't think it's fully stable). Or drop a bit more and get the stock performance.

I've managed to get up to 10% more fps by bumping the power up 10% instead but it gets quite a bit noisier than I like and the VRAM hits 92, which I'd rather avoid, it's not exactly hot weather atm either.

Seems like switching to fast memory timing just makes it really unstable on my card annoyingly, even with stock freq, I've seen posts elsewhere of other people using it fine.

EDIT: oh and if I uncap the FPS and let it run over 200FPS I do get a bit of coil whine. It'd be completely bearable even without headphones though, I don't notice it when there's some music or game audio on, not like some of my old cards.

Continuing my oc/uv experiences here.

Currently settled in at +5% power limit and -75uv with fan tuning turned on to keep everything nice and cool.

Given the choice between the Taichi and Gigabyte OC, which card would people go for? Based on performance and cooling... Not price :D

I got the XFX 9070 XT Mercury OC arriving today.!

I like this build... cable management sucks just like my build lol.. But I'm trying to figure out why you have a 1500W PSU :O
I’m all about the server rack life—cable management is overrated! I picked up a 1500W power supply in anticipation of the 5090, but after the reveal, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. So this generation, I’ve gone all red. Front view below!
