The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I'm staring at my order progress bar hoping it's like windows fragmentation

Its torture and when its finally dispatched the next stage of torture begins, shipping, and for some unholy reason it always coincide with "Mr Slow 1-2 day shipping turning into 5 days of agony" being at work that day and in charge of your packet. The App for tracking my packet almost banned me for bot like behaviour and the gorilla glass on my phone got a noticeable swipe down groove in it :P

What? forgot already? :) I was the 6950XT guy. Although the last 2 months has been done with a 980ti. Wasn't originally going to buy anything right now but the weather haven't improved enough yet so tires are postponed a month. What a stroke of luck that was :D. Going from the 6950 XT to the 9070 has costed me around 180 quid after selling the 6950

My 9070xt Nitro comes in tomorrow, and I'm replacing a 6950xt as well (that I downgraded to after selling a 4090 in November). Will probably hold onto to 6950zt as a back-up card as it's still a great 1440p solution.

Stupid question: did you have to reinstall drivers, choosing your new 9070? Or will I be able to stick with those I'm using with my 6950?

You could cancel your order and then it'll put me higher up in the queue. Be a pal.

Same drivers as long as they're the latest.

It's striking how many people in this thread sold a 4090, I too sold mine, too much heat output! Gaming at 175 watts on my 9070 reminds me of old-school graphics cards, light, cheap, quiet, but plays all the games at high settings. Love it.

I would personally remove and reinstall. But in this case I sold my 6950 back in January and have been using a temporary 980ti while waiting so no clue how things would behave if you kept using the installed drivers.

Anyone do a crazy move and sell a 7900 XTX to get a 9070 XT, or just me?
I sold mine 7900xt and bought Gigabyte gaming oc 9070xt for 715£ on release day. An hour ago I've orderd Sapphire 9070 for 560£ form France.
9070xt isn't worth 155£ more so gigabyte will go back to the shop.

I sold mine in accordance with the prior system I've been using over the past 20+ years: 1) sell card a month or two before a launch (because resale prices are normally high then), 2) move to a back-up card for a month or two prior to launch, 3) buy the high-end card at launch.

In this case, my system fall apart: resale value of 4090 was much higher after launch, and getting a 5090 at a non-loser price continues to nigh on impossible.

I went with 9070xt as it was both the only real option (because no way in holy heckfire am I buying an abomination, overpriced 5070ti or 5080), and like you said, it should do everything I need. Who knows, I may ultimately move to a 5090, but I'm not touching one at current prices (on principle).

Don't mind me, just enjoying Cyberpunk with raytracing on (no path tracing) and everything maxed at over 60fps with FSR4.

Oh, in ultrawide with HDR

How is path tracing btw on the 9070Xt in cyberpunk? I get very low fps and unplayable on the 7800xt like 15-20fps lmao.

I intentionally went for the 9070 over the XT precisely for its superior efficiency and I'm so pleased with it. Whisper quiet too as you say.

Has anyone checked the fans on their card yet? Mine aren't turning on, I assume because the GPU seems to be staying under 50C when gaming.

It is a Sapphire Pulse btw.
