The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

9070xt Red Devil & 5800X3D,

-100mV, 2750Mhz, +10% power

32704 Graphic score in Time Spy

Was getting 30022 at stock.

Doubled my 6800 score, happy days.
I'm doing a side grade from a 7900 XTX. It's good to see that over 30k is possible. My XTX could get just under 35k graphics score and I thought I'd be dropping to sub 30k. FSR4 and better RT are the reasons for me changing.

Once people confirm the cards,I will need:
1.) Sapphire
2.) RX 9070 XT
3.) Pulse
4.) 12/03/2025

Not had much time to play with it yet but I noticed a drop in performance over the time I had - Windows 11 had decided to install an older driver than the one I had installed (25.3.1) which lowered performance. Had to resort to a RegEdit to stop Windows automatically installing device driver updates.

Yeah sadly 9070xt and 9070 is it at most there might be a higher memory model for ai fun or a slightly better binned 9070xt but thats it folks
until 2026 which is now 9 months and counting so ... the unrelenting cycle of hope and disapointment / glory

mine did that yesterday it also coincided with the monitor losing connection after many ddu and resets I got it sorted

turns out the monitor was unrelated someone who is most definetly not my youngest had loosened the plug with their feet so the power was inconsitant put it in a different socket and all good

I lost the ability to enable FSR4 in Horizon Zero Dawn and Stalker 2. It took ages to realise Windows 11 had downgraded to the previous drivers.

The RegEdit method I used (that has worked so far) involved adding a new Key (as there was no "Settings" Key on my installation of Windows 11) and a new DWORD:
  • Open Registry Editor: Press Win+R, type regedit, and press Enter.

  • Navigate to the DeviceSetup Key: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DeviceSetup\Settings.

  • Create a New DWORD Value: Right-click in the right pane, select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value", and name it "PreventDeviceDriverUpdate".

  • Set the Value: Double-click the new DWORD, set the value data to "1", and click "OK".

Had an "issue" with my 9070xt Red Devil. Plugged in the RGB cable to turn the stuff off and after about 5 mins the system would hard lock, only recovery was to turn off with the power button.
Unplugged RGB cable and computer works fine. Motherboard is MSI Mag 450. Just putting this out there for people if they are having similar issues.

Gotta say, the 9070's performance impresses me. According to all reviews it really isn't that much faster than my old 6950XT yet I can play CP2077 maxed out raster and hover around 85-100 in rough numbers @ 1440p UW. I wasn't even close to that on my 6950XT and that was with slightly lowered specific settings like screenspace reflections. Not to forget, the frame pacing is ffing amazing to. It's certainly been worth the rough 180-200 quid this upgrade has cost me.

Seems like more people are having the same problem with the Reaper XT that I am

At least I dont feel like Im going crazy anymore
I have moved mine on due to the noise from the fans ramping up and down along with the poor iracing performance. I may get another at some point. It's annoying as it's a great card and I could probably put up with the noise but I've been waiting a while to get back to vr and the performance was worse than when I used a 4070ti.

Managed to get my Steel Legend ordered yesterday, as well as all the other parts for a much needed full system upgrade.
Now to just wait for it all to arrive.

@CAT-THE-FIFTH for the list:

1.) Asrock
2.) RX9070 XT
3.) Steel Legend
4.) 12/03/2025
