Yes that simply means he has a high esponiage level than you when no defenses are shown
Also theres fleet activity above his planet (the little asterisk) does that mean his fleets or becasue I sent an espionage probe there? Will he be able to see he's been probed p)?I'll be honest in that I don't know that much. Although as far as I know the asterisk means either him or someone else's fleet is doing something there. He will only know you probed him if he is a high enough level (usually given by the counter esponiage percentage I think). Looking at the planet you probed I think you're safe

I'm sure someone will develop this further, also correct any mistakes they see.

you can probe another member when you have espionage tech 2 and a probe... if the member has espionage 2 or lower it will display all details about their resources, fleet and defence (the only real interesting bits)
if the other member has a higher espionage tech level than you - say 3... it will only display his/her resources and power output... thats why i sad its useful to see their power output, if its 2000 then you know they are advanced and you know for a fact they will have defences and some fighters etc.
as long as you have a higher espionage tech than the person your probing it will display all details, if you dont, you only get limited information

havent even got round to espionage yet, only created an account today... that was the info i had gathered from the forums etc...
