POSSIBLE STARTUP STRATEGY
New to a universe? Want to start as quickly as possible? Here's a good build order to start on. Its simple. Basically metal is hugely important at the start of the game. It makes most of your starting buildings.
A good idea is thus to improve it as much as possible. Try this:
Solar 1
Metal 1
Metal 2
Solar 2
Metal 3
Metal 4
Solar 3
Metal 5
Crystal 1
Solar 4
Metal 6
Crystal 2
Solar 5
Crystal 3
Crystal 4
Crystal mines should be about one or two levels behind the metal mines.
Do not bother with deuterium until you reach roughly level 10/11.
Get colony ships as soon as you possibly can. Get as many colonies as possible. It will increase your incoming resource by a whole load
