It does not break capitalism, infact its better for capitalism, what it breaks is socialist systems.

I think it's equally bad for both systems to be honest.

Capitalism is just worse for people when it does happen.

"Why?" You might ask..

Well, Capitalism these days is about profit above ALL other concerns. So when profits start to suffer due to decreasing population, prices will rise to maintain those greedy profit margins.

You think Cost of Living is bad now? Once profit margins start to suffer it's going to get a whole lot worse.

Unregulated, Unadulterated Capitalism will always seek to preserve it's bottom line.

You mis-understand the meaning of capitalism, greedy executives is not the definition

Making money requires that you offer more value than your competitor, you cant just increase prices.

Half of the companies in existence don't make any money, because they are bad, they will go bankrupt.

We've already seen it with the recent "Energy Crisis". Whilst some countries such as France have a controlling stake in their power industry and could (to a large extent) dictate prices, look what happened over here.

Instead of the companies taking a short-term hit, they struck a deal with the gov. to ensure that we still pay the full market rate, only deferred across many coming years, while cleverly hidden behind a "Energy Price Guarantee" which was deliberately worded and described misleadingly - causing a not insignificant number of people believing the whole "£2,500 energy price cap".

At no point were they willing to sacrifice their bottom line.

I think with the rise of prices on pretty much anything such as energy, food, interest rates etc there will be even more lonely straight guys out there.

These things are putting huge pressure on families and the arguments increase as a result. Any problems bubbling under the surface find their way to the top more often.

This is off topic for the thread, so i will not continue, but you are entirely wrong, stop with the rhetoric and go and read.

You're right, it is taking the thread rather off-topic so would perhaps be best left for another time, but at NO POINT do you get to come up with crap like "I will not continue but you're entirely wrong".

It's as pathetic and low-effort as a child trying to have the last word. If you can say with absolute certainty that I am "entirely wrong" then put your money where your mouth is and prove it, otherwise hush your gums.

It's great birth rates are dropping. Had to happen at some point. Its ironically perfectly natural. We have peaked as a population. Populations always go through peaks and troughs.

AI and robotics are soon going to make most jobs obsolete. And really. That's the reason governments are concerned. It's stalls capitalism. But what's not clear is how much AI etc do erode our purpose.

But AI and robotics will at least make so many jobs obsolete we won't need so many people. And if robots support our aging population then, again, we won't need the growth.

This Could go two ways... Eutopia with a universal income and no need to work. Or hell where you have nothing and have no use and mega corps own everything and you.

Basically, food and resources are scarce, so birth rates are dropping. No different to animals.

Also, with how many options we have for "fun" now, kids is less appealing. So you have the carrot there and the stick of environment, cost of living etc.
