The RTX 2080 pre-order thread

Perhaps, I'd be ok with 30fps probably as long as it locks and presumably both game and drivers are not optimised properly atm so hopefully I'll be able to get something playable. If not I guess I'll just have to drop down to 2560x1080.

Yeah, or turn RT off which puts you back into 1080ti territory again. Still, if gsync is reliable at ~30 it might be ok.

Ordered to 2080ti from the NV website. Been on a Titan X Maxwell for over 3 years now so due an upgrade, so might as well get the best.

Good to see the same old faces still having the same tired old arguments. Stay salty guys.

Just seen this on techradar.com

The prices for Nvidia's new graphics cards as follow:

  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: $999 (about £753, AU$1,388)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080: $699 (about £527, AU$936)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070: $499 (about £376, AU$668)
However, while these prices were shown on stage during Nvidia's press conference, they do not match those found on the Nvidia website at the time of writing. Online, prices are still listed at $1,199 (AU$1,899) for the RTX 2080 Ti, $799 (AU$1,199) for the RTX 2080 proper and $599 (AU$899) for the RTX 2070 model.

I'd certainly have a 2080 at round about the £500 mark (dream on I suspect).

It'll be a fair bit faster than 1080ti I think, but then at 3440x1440 and 60htz that won't be something I'll need with current games. Should run cyberpunk 2077 well though.

That's the only way I'd consider upgrading from my 1080ti to a 2080ti, it would have to be considerably quicker with RT disabled. But I'd have thought they'd be showing benchmarks off if that was the case. Maybe it is? I'm not going to risk it and pre-order though, too much money for that. I'll wait for reviews this time.

I don't think it's worth it from 1080ti although maybe if you can sell yours for a decent amount at least you stay up to date.

I'm on 1080 and couldn't bring myself to upgrade to 1080ti for a 25-30% improvement, especially as 1080 was doing a great job at 3440x1440 anyway. This should give me quite a large improvement and I really like the sound of the raytracing tech.

It might only best 1080ti by 25-30% but that makes it significantly quicker than 1080.

Oh good another thread for people to whinge in, get butt hurt, and buy consoles instead.

I have preordered with the intension of not being disappointed on release if they turn out to be good. If less than 20% improvement over my Xp then I'll probably cancel. If they turn out to be 40% faster I'm betting they'll be more orders perhaps less stock and the price will defiantly go up, on some cards it has already, it'll be the 8700k all over again, that got flamed on release, a few weeks later the same people were clambering for them. We'll see, I'm hoping we see benchmarks well before the 13th though.
Good man and fair play :)
