The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

I noticed something on wattman. If i turn on freesync the slider to overclock HBM memory is greyed out. If I disable freesync the slider shows up again.

Can anyone test this to confirm? thanks

Anyone willing to write a tutorial on flashing the 64 bios?

1. Download ATIWinflash here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-winflash/

2. Create a Backup of your high power BIOS (switch in standard position towards face plate).

3. Download the Vega 64 BIOS (use non liquid) here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios...X+Vega+64&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=

The one you want is the one WITHOUT _1.rom at the end. Check the details and you will see the one without underline1 has the higher power draw, i.e. is the non power saving BIOS.

4. Flash that ROM with ATIWinflash

5. Reboot your PC.

Check with the newest beta build of HWinfo if your memory voltage now shows 1.35V.

You've done it!

Note: You can't flash the secondary BIOS, it is protected.

Thanks a lot! Just flashed and downvolted to 1100mv. Got a score of 7067 on timespy.

Isnt the 64 bios there to bump the ram voltage (and as such pump up the hbm2)?

Using 50% power limit im stable at 950, without trying to go higher (just plumbed those straight in for quick test) - is there any point to going with the 64 bios unless trying to crank high voltage thru the core and mem?

Did you have any issues when you flashed to the 64 bios? I don't remember exactly but I recall watching a 56 oc video on Gamers Nexus a while back and the guy said they couldn't flash to the 64 bios. I'll probably give it a go later this week when I get my waterblock in my card.

Are you on Windows 10 or 7? Others reporting issues flashing on Windows 10?

With the 64 bios on my 56 i can hit 1100 totally stable at 1050mv on the memory, prob could do 1000mv to be honest.
I seem to be topping out at between 1670 and 1710ish core Mhz, doesnt seem to matter if i run 1050mv all the way to 1200mv on the core it still seems to run out of puff at ~1700
Cant complain really. Thats more than 200mhz core overclock and what... 300 on the memory - no wonder its fast.

And its decent on the power as well, it might improve even more when i get a water setup for it.

Really tempted to get one. Would prefer the Sapphire on over the POWERCOLOR. Not sure why, any ETAs on thoae AIB ones?

I see the Powercolor is still in stock though.
