The Samsung OmniaHD i8910 ... this NEEDS it's own thread.

Maybe you just haven't set the equaliser preferences.

Regarding the browser, if you read your quote he states that there is no better one out yet. Opera mini is ok, but not awesome, and hopefully the firmware update will resolve the main issues that people have with the own browser.

Regarding tips on the phone, there are many pages in this thread dedicated to tips. Without wanting to seem rude, I suggest you just read it. Posting in a thread with 1220 replies requesting a summary smacks as being lazy, to be honest. Read the thread and head over to the forums.

To all others, the facebook site had another update yesterday saying that the firmware WAS ready, and will be released in a week. I'm almost certain they said the same thing a month ago, did they not? Not very convincing.

I have put full bass on and the bass enhancement.

I've heard Orange have sent all their units back, anyone know of any London stores (any network) that have the i8910 HD as a demo to play with? I need to test one urgently.

When i went to buy mine p4u did not have them as they said they had been recakked, I got mine through mobiles.co.uk. Think there might have been a few issues with the orange firmware when it first came out,

As far as I know, the mobile wasn't recalled, but samsung stopped selling them for a while, in which time they fixed a few firmware issues (mainly the awful sound), and then re-launced the device on the 1st of August.

There's no new build as such, the hardware is all the same, just the new handsets are shipping with a newer firmware.

It's a 10 minute job to flash an older firmware to the new one though, so not the end of the world really.

The only thing I find annoying, and it's probably only on Orange but when you go into 'Images and Videos' you have about 8 pre-installed images on their which when you try to delete, it says Can Not Delete...This is annoying as I don't want them there...How can I delete them? I dont want to flash my phone or anything because 1) I'll end up doing something wrong and it will mess the phone up and 2) If I ever have to send it back (Under warrenty) then it will void warrenty...please help :)

To be honest El Gringo, it would be very helpful for the owners of threads like these to maintain the first post with the latest information. It can (is) very laborious to wade through a 1200+ post thread. You can miss a lot.

What would be the benefits of the new firmware? Still have the orange one atm, is it worth the effort for me to get XP installed again to be able to do it?

The seller on eBay unlocked it for free o.O so lucky. Only issue is he sent it to my home address instead of my work address and no one's in!
