The Samsung Solid State HDD's?

Hey all, I heard they're the fastest drives you can buy, and I was just curious how much slower they are at writing than say a WD Raptor X? or whatever the fastest writing HDD is, and what other draw backs do these HDD's have? I'm not considering buying one yet, but they sound too good to be true with how fast they must run with no seek time, but Many Thanks to whoever can help anyway

there not ready for prime time yet, put it this way for the money you can go SAS with 15k RPM drives.

Dont bother with speed, you wont notice it until you do hardcore file transfer, RAID5 and crazy heavy multi tasking.

2x 7200 RPM is more than enough if configured as RAID0

Ah ok many thanks for the help guys, i'm just really looking at every option for a new PC and two HDD's in Raid 0 seems to be the general way to go according to most, if not all the people i've spoken to/everything i've read, so many thanks again for all the help

if you can afford it get one, but it's not going to improve your FPS, one of the main improvements of ssds is that there much more hardwaring.
