Have also modified my drive cage. Before it hit my cpu hsf when I removed it and since I only used the top portion for a DVD and had a spare 5.25" bay I bought some hard-drive spacers, moved the hard-drive into the 5.25" slot beneath the dvd and dremeled off the rest. Also seems to have improved airflow.
Adding the blow-hole was good as well, cpu idles at 30, case at 27, hard-drive at 15 and the graphics card at 31. Am very pleased with the mod.

certainly tidier than my effort with my old shuttle, I traced/scored and cut out the shape of the arctic cooler but it never occured to me to just lose the bit at the exit point so I had to pull the case over the AC and it was all a bit of a ballache.
 
Looks very nice indeed.. If I had the time and the guts to cut up my case that's what I'd want it to look like :)

That beige optical drive burns my eyes :eek:

Seriously.. try to stealth the drive, using the old fascia if you can find it
