*** The SKY F1 2012 Coverage Thread ***

They have been showing them all since the channel launched, and always in an annoyingly random order :(
The first time round they did go in order - I recorded them all. The missus constantly nags at me was they're taking up the majority of the disk space :D

Oh and the 1991 cars were much better looking than todays!
Personally I think the 1993 season was the best looking overall.

Just watched the qualifying since SkyF1 was free and that woman doing interviews with drivers outside was terrible she had no idea what to say. It seems like the presenters don't really gel together and relax, I really prefer the Brundle and DC combination

It was her first race... That's normally Natalie Pinkham, but she got married yesterday, bad planning on her part. Didn't she know it was a GP weekend?

There's the summer holiday break coming up soon.... ;)

The only proffesional in Sky is Martin for me. Rest of the team is just annoying me. Still prefer BBC coverage ....

Agreed for the most part. I liked Ted who is far better than that annoying foreign guy the BBC now have, seriously can we get subtitles for him?

Bring back the DC + Brundle pairing to BBC and all will be well with F1. On a related note how long does $ky get to keep its greasy mits on F1 anyway?

In DCs interview in F1 Racing this month he was less than positive about the Sky coverage. He said the BBC coverage is more casual and relaxed, which it is. So I wouldn't expect him to be joining MB on Sky any time soon.

Sky have F1 until 2017, and the BBC will have dropped all live coverage, and possibly all coverage, well before then. F1 will be on Sky forever now.

I think Sky's coverage is gradually improving. I think Crofty, Kravitz and Brundle are good as are Herbert and McNish (when he's on) but they need to get rid of 'fat bum' Thompson.

It was always going to feel different to BBC, there coverage was excellent, but I struggle to understand all the hate towards the Sky coverage, people seem to forget it was the BBC who wanted to back out of the contract. I would have preferred it remain on free to air TV as it was pretty much the only good justification for the license fee, but them's the shakes :D

Comparing the current BBC and Sky coverage - Sky wins hands down for me.

Sky is more professional, whereas the BBC feels a bit Top Gearing - guys just ****ing around.

Same here.

Plenty of respectable F1 pundits making regular appearances. Brundle + Crofty on the commentary. Nice technical and historical pieces they show. Not to mention year round live coverage.

Caught the BBC highlights yesterday. Bleh.

Sky's online coverage is pants. Not the live stuff, its ok, i'm talking about the fact you can't watch full replays of any of the practice sessions or even a full rerun of qualifying! Well if you can I can't bloody find it! Iplayer is far better than sky go.
