This is what I've always thought but does it make *that* much of a difference?

Despite firmly believing in a good clean wipe after all my years of using windows, I've never found it to apply in quite the same way to the mac. Provided the install doesn't already have problems to begin with, the difference in performance is normally minimal, and the upgrade process normally does quite a good job of cleaning up after itself.

Anyone installed it yet on a MacbookPro 4,1 ? (Early 2008 Santa Rosa).

I want to know whether you have the 4 finger gestures for the trackpad or not? in 10.6 this has to be hacked in as Apple only gave the 4 finger gestures to newer notebooks, even though some older notebooks have the hardware in place to support it (MBP 4,1 and 1st gen MBA).

UPS delivered @ 11:30. Currently doing a clean install (booted from the DVD and nuked my Leopard install) and boy is it taking its sweet time.

Then I'll have to restore my home folder from Time Machine. Then re-install my Apps.

Hurray for a day off work!

I haven't done a clean install ever since i got my Unibody in december. I've been waiting for a good opportunity to do so and this is it i reckon. Just deciding which formatting option i'll choose, 1 time run over the HDD or a 7 time zero out? Hmmmm...

Just doing a time machine backup to my 1TB Time Capsule and also backing up folders to a Lacie FW800 drive as i type.

The longest part of the whole thing is installing WoW again! :p

No sign of it in the regular post.

Thinking of heading out to get it at the store. I'll no doubt come back later and find a card in the door, but if I don't go, it won't arrive at all.

Came early this morning via UPS. Will wait a while before installing though.

Did you pay for the optional £10 delivery?

No sign of mine yet and the post has been. The postie usually come back up in his van when things need to be signed for so maybe, hopefully, it's with him. :(

EDIT - Does say the carrier is "G3 WORLDWIDE NETHERLANDS BV"...It can't be coming from the Netherlands, surely! Wish i got that £10 delivery now...

It'll be coming Royal Mail I imagine. G3 just take it to the UK where it's palmed off to the regular postal service.

yep same here g3 worldwide but it does state 2nd of september but i'm wondering coz i just saw a UPS truck drive past my house.

Googling the netherlands carrier doesn't yield great results. All the results have snow leopard not arriving in the title! :(
