The Social Gathering / Gaming Thread [A place to organize meet-ups]

well im not sure what was going on tonight with me

that's the hardest course i know, set up shots are the way to go i think

as for rec room

i could hear you all no problem, playing on my pico 4 native

all settings were fine

i can only think that you were all chatting through app chat , which does not work for me as it overrides the game chat

My battery just died and shut down the headset, about two seconds after warning me the battery was low. I can't start it back up until it charges a bit.

Sorry guys.

Rec Room was a nice change of scenery though

VR hates me!! Finally going to win something and my headset powers off again!!! Grrrrrrr. :p

Well done Riggs and Mr.Cookie, Great games, bowling was pretty good fun. The rally game was terrible.

Maybe we could try the Pulsar game next week, Thursday? Or if we got more than 5 try the bowling game or some of the other Rec Room games.

Usually get about two and a half hours out of the pro, but I've got a power bank that fits in my pocket and I run the cable up under what I'm wearing (usually a t).

i did yes, but now i don't bother anymore (i find power banks ruin the comfort when its strapped to the headset)

i have 2x Anker ones, the lightest one and one that charges quickly, but still the cheaper ones to buy

You dont need anything as big as the 737 really, on the Quest 2 i get about 2 hours without a powerbank, adding a 10,000 one adds another 2 maybe 3 hours, so 5 hours in total

I Don't. I have the USB cable on a ceiling mounted pulley system, that I had for the Rift. So it doesn't annoy me too much when I have to plug in the cable. The problem for me is that there used to come up two warnings, one when the battery was low and one when it was very low. And I would still have time to plug in the USB cable after the second warning. The last couple of times we have played, only the first low battery warning flashes up, then the headset shuts down. No time to plug the cable in.

Might consider a battery bank if I don't switch to the Quest 3.

@Ravenger, you have one of the bowling games don't you? Have you ever compared it to the bowling game in Rec Room?

Just surprised at how much fun the bowling game was. (or it maybe it was fun because it was nice seeing Riggs and the bottom of a scoring table for a change, yes I am that petty and vindictive. :p )

I think Mr Cookie and Riggs liked the Rec Room Quests. We tried Jumbotron and Quest for the Golden Trophy.

Later today I am going to try Pulsar Lost Colony to see if it has changed much. I got it years ago when it was early access and played it for about 30 minutes.

If anyone is around and wants to try any game other than Walk about. Give me a shout :)

I've got my pulley system still from rift days, cracking bit of kit that.

Just spent 30 minutes playing Pulsar: Lost Colony. It has improved and isn't as clunky as it was back when I last tried it. However, I think it's more like Elite Dangerous than Star Trek Bridge Crew. Not so sure it's going to be suitable for the hangout crew. There is a learning curve and we struggled with the simple controls on Star Trek Bridge Crew!! :p
