I have noticed there is a large population of stokies on OCUK. We should be elite and have Stoke On Trent only talk in here :D I dont know we can talk about oatcakes or something... anything local related

So were better than to speak about one of the UK's worst city's!

Ill start were abouts in stoke are you from?

I was born in Eturia and i moved to Trentham age 6

Oh and here is a picture of an oatcake

Scuzi you have no clue my friend. On the 7th day GOD did not rest! He created stoke on trent and saw that it was good

(incase you seriously cant tell this is just a lol thread for the members of glorious nation of stoke on trent)

I have spent a day in Stoke. I have also spent a day in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans post-Katrina. I'd rather live in the Lower Ninth. In a cardboard box. Infested with HIV+ rats. With an infection in my penis.

I was born in the lovely area known as Chell, although at points throughout the years gone by various people have painted over the 'C' so the sign on high lane says 'WELCOME TO HELL'.

Shelton is very Picturesque, there are worse though.

What really grinds my gears is SOT City Council and there constant inability in the past 10 years to move the city forwards. We are stuck with a city center without modernisation or identity, devoid of class and looks, full of takeaways, charity shops and coffee shops and the main entry point to the city is a bus station that is quite frankly an eyesore.

East/West shopping precinct, Unity House land, Hope Street and down by the old ABS Cinema - prime examples of area's the Council should have sorted out by now.

Yes you are 100000% correct with all that you are saying.

Just go up hanley and just see how much of it is just a pile of rubble. Labour gov have let us down soo much. Prime example

Lets build a cultural quater in hanley make it realy upmarket we will build a new theatre (Regent) and then get some upmarket wine bars and restaurants. Problem is they then allow about 10 chairty shops in the same place dragging the illusion right down. Half arsed attempt as usual

hanley might be one of THE worst city centers for architecture. None of the bulidings have any sort of skyline evreying is dull and built on the ground

Three years in Stafford at Uni means I know better. Actually, I recently went back to Stafford and noticed the town centre had been opened up, which is some improvement at least (though at a cost of what little green space there was left there).

And yes, I've spent a few days in Stoke-on-Trent too. I discovered it was actually worse than Stafford. The word 'neglect' comes to mind, sadly. :(

Don't get me wrong - there are some very nice places in Staffordshire, but Stoke (at least the bits I've seen) isn't one of them (IMO).

PS - I've been known to be equally damning of where I live now, so please don't take it personally. :)

I used to live in Hale, Altrincham when I was small and remember driving through Stoke a few times.
I presume it's still ****? :p

Did you have to overtake all the horses and carriages :D

OCUK should give a discount for its stoke on trent lads. It can be like when we as a country normaly send to africa to combat poverty.

I bet OCUK is one of them people from NUL who distance themselves from stoke on trent :D

I remember the fenton days lads!
