So the $35k Model 3 is dead.

I guess they fulfilled their promise by having it available for about a month.

The cheapest one “on menu” is now $39,500, the SR+ with AP.

The AP was changed itself about a month ago. Buying a Model 3 used is going to be a nightmare in future.

On the flip side a few RHD cars have been seen driving around in California, so they may be available in the UK relatively soon.

Pretty disappointing news to be honest. Given the growing competitiveness of this market I think this may come back to bite them.

That said, there is in my eyes still no credible alternative!

Does anyone know if Tesla accepts part/split payments when ordering online?

Thinking part credit and debit card payments.

Price rises now in effect.. Not sure on the LR/P models but the SR is up by £1K

It's annoying as I had been doing the sums this week and was close to hitting the button.

Prices are only going one way, so the longer you wait to hit the button, the bigger the price will be on that button.

This must happen a lot! My M3, lol just no, Model 3, was one I ordered on the accelerated delivery after the exact spec one I'd been after happened to come up a few weeks ago - red or blue, LR, wheel upgrade, enhanced autopilot. They were originally going to deliver it on a day in the last week of Feb and allocated me a 71 plate, but I said I wanted to wait until March and get a 22 plate so they allocated me one the next week. Low and behold it turned up yesterday on a trailer, the guy dropped it off and it had the original 71 plate on there. They don't register the cars until you accept them, so I knew it was just the wrong plates and after ages on hold to Tesla and someone calling me back, they got some new plates made for me and driven to my house from the local service centre which is about 30 mins away.

A bit annoying at the time, but everything else is perfect about the car and I'm really happy with it. The price increase yesterday was a nice surprise - I had originally been looking at year old cars, but they were only a small amount cheaper than a brand new ones, so with an accelerated delivery it was a no brainer to get brand new and I'm even happier I did that now that they went up.

After creating this thread almost 7 years ago and annoying all of my friends/family by banging on about Tesla's non-stop, I have finally placed an order for a Model 3 in blue as well! Any other issues or quality concerns that you've seen out of interest?

Do you plan on applying any paint protection or anything similar?

When I ordered my M3 the delivery date was Nov 22 which was ok as it's not long after my current lease is up. I've just checked my account and it's changed to May 21 - June 18

Ideally I'd like it for September

What should/can I do?

I ordered a couple of days ago just after the price hike with a similar date of Nov 22. This has now changed to May 05 - June 02.

Unfortunately I might yet need to change my order (or cancel if that's the only way), if my accountant decides I can in fact put this through my business. As things standard it's a private purchase.

I tried this and they won't provide a quote online without the registration number is what I was told. Think you have to call up but I haven't been bothered yet.

Not happy with my quotes at the moment, they are like ~£750.

My first quote was before I had my reg. I then had to call up to get the reg added to the quote as it wouldn't let me add it online, just kept looping.

Sounds like the website just sucks then

Good to know though! I will give them a call anyway as I am curious given they are suggested by Tesla.

Looks like mine has been drastically brought forward from November and is now this week! Problem is I'm now not prepared..

For those that have these through their companies did anyone put the order through as a 'Personal' purchase initially? I have because I wasn't 100% on what I was doing and the business order option didn't make sense with a required VAT number field. I'm hoping someone had a similar experience that they can share.

Just put AB123456 in VAT number bit - done it for both my business purchases (I'm not VAT registered as Ltd)

You potentially will have issues as the V5 is personal and then if you try and transfer to the business, your business will need to purchase it from you, V5 will need updated, insurance will need updated as registered owner etc

Thanks! I can't now as it's already ordered with a date of Monday at the moment. Need to really push that back if possible anyway.

Will give them a call and see if they can just change it and the invoice to state the company etc.
