The Thick of It

Thanks to this thread, last night I binged everything up to S4E02 on iPlayer. I don't know how I forgot about it, but Malcom trying to describe Star Wars is one of the funniest tings I've ever seen.

The one about the ******* hairdresser - the space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tin-foil pal and a peddle bin. His father's a robot and he's ******* ****** his sister. LEGO: They're all made of ******* LEGO.

well I've just checked it out again .. four days to watch 6 series on nowtv ... 4minutes was all i needed.

..but my opinion remains the same ... it's just like a usa sitcom ... hard to believe he wrote it, but maybe it appealed to Americans and he gets their sense of humour.
episodes of saturday night live and their comic take-off of trump is miles better eg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vQlhWBvAwY
so their humour can't be poles apart.

Give Veep a chance. Once you get to know the characters, almost every one of which are irredeemable *****, it just gets better and better. I think the actors and the writers really get to grips with just how bad these people are as it goes on.

Remember, it started before Trump was a thing so some of the stuff that happens (that seemed improbable then) would be fairly par for the course today. They really have to up the (Jonah) ante in latter seasons.
