Can you prove that and yes in the past they were caught doing that.

Nvidia set the new ceiling price with the 2080TI and Amd followed a lot of you were happy buying a 2080TI and 3090, as soon as the 2080TI flew off the shelves Nvidia and Amd saw what people were willing to pay.

By buying those cards you set the price for the future, it is quite funny that some of you dismiss Amd under cutting the 3090, but it is your money do what you want with it.
I don't buy at that price so don't really care, yes I would like cheaper cards but if people are willing to pay the price they will keep making the product at that price point.

Exactly. Say you have a shop, you price things at as high a margin as you can and see who bites. No one bites? Lower the price. People can't get enough? keep the price as is and see if you can push it further next time. Is that kind/right/ethical? Probably not but businesses are in it for themselves first and foremost so I'm not particularly shocked.

I will wait until the 5600 is out and maybe 6600XT we see, as I need a full upgrade will only keep ssd's and hd's and monitor.

What's disheartening is you can't pick any GPU up for msrp, there are no $499 3070 / $699 3080 etc and it's going to be the same for AMD when they release their GPU's too.

On top of that, if I wan't to go for an AMD GPU and keep VRR I've got to add the cost of a new monitor on top, and for what? To play a handful of games? It's not a very exciting prospect.

Thankfully though, I'm not desperate for an upgrade really as I'm currently on a 3700x/1080Ti on a 1440p g-sync monitor.

Recently I'm much preferring to game whilst on the sofa with a gamepad on console than I am sat in front of a monitor on a desk, which is why I'm forgoing a PC upgrade in favour of the XSX.

The 3080's are easy to acquire now compared to the past days. I ordered 2 today, cancelled one as the FE was successful.
Does anyone else find the hatred of the Epic Games launcher / platform kind of irrational / childish?

Not amongst the majority perhaps, but a large percentage of Steam gamers.

Yes, Epic, you can buy my affection with free games :D

To be fair, Origion is awful.

Running Watchdogs Legion on my 2080Ti at 3440x1440 and everything maxed out (including DLSS) I get 60 fps average and it looks superb. I would be interested to see what the newer cards get at this res

Of course I can't prove it but its pretty obvious... The only other competitor just happens to release cards at same price and performance?

As for dismissing AMD undercutting 3090... They haven't.... Look at my analysis. They showed an OC'd set of benchmarks against FE non OCd figures. If anything from a pure value perspective, 3090 is a better buy due to the increase in VRAM and software stack. Ultimately, both 3090 and 6900XT are rip off cards.

Forget the carp watchdogs game, i just want to know if it can run Assassins Creed Odyssey at 60fps lol

I swear this game has replaced ‘can it run crysis’ in my mind.

I can’t play it on my 5700XT, i have given up.

This is one game I'm looking forward to playing when I get my 6800XT, in ultrawide it should look great. I remember Assissins creed Origins was quite ropey with its performance as well.

I feel quite bad for the competent reviewers out there...

They are now looking at having to somehow clearly compare stock to stock rasterization, raytracing, overclocked modes, DLSS (also potentially DLSS vs super resolution in a few months), smart memory access mode on/off as not everyone has access to it, and assess some things that may not only be differing performance but also have differing visual quality (eg ray tracing implementations and upsampling tech) which is going to be very challenging to quantify.

I wouldn't want to be a reviewer right now lol.

Any news on when we might hear some details about partner cards? I'm hoping one might come with a water block attached and save me the bother.
Agree, how to you review "picture quality"... so fro me on the 5700XT I run 4k BF5 at 84% render res at full 4k... and use RIS in control panel to sharepn it up and I get 25% more fps... and the image for me, is the same as native 4k... however you can argue it's cheating or whatever, but that's the era we're now in, DLSS, RIS and the new techs... how do you review fps, if not everything is the same? Difficult...

Yes and that is why I am waiting until Jan or feb.

Odyssey? I thought it was Denuvo thrashing CPU cores that caused performance issues.
it does thrash, but even at 4K (where CPU does not matter) it runs pretty terribly & very buggy in gameplay.
It's not their only badly optimized game, TD2 looked terrible compared to all the other games shows in the benches yesterday.

We are talking about a few % and the different is what £400?, they have uncut cut the 3090.

The 3070FE was still available at the RRP when I looked around 13:30 half an hour after launch... sold out now but that's significantly better than what happened with the 3080. Shame I didn't want one lol.

Can't believe some of the AIB cards are pushing well over £600 for the 3070 - that's simply insane when you consider that the 6800XT will be around that mark, or if you simply must have nvidia the 3080 FE won't set you back much more if you just wait.
