Fixed that for you.All this talk ofSAMGBAR but the problems I see are, very small (if any) gains from what I've read and also the CSM problem which from my point of view I would not want to do. Not worth the hassle.
Fixed that for you.
But it was my understanding that if mb manufactures updates the bios to include SAM then you didn't need to worry about CSM. Because that was the old way of doing it. As there was no SAM option in the bios.
Hmm...
Amd will need to clarify now that mb manufactures are adding it specifically in the bios.My reading of it was if you have used your current drives with csm enabled then you cannot use SAM(GBAR) as you will have to re-install Windows and disable csm in bios. I hope you are correct in which case I'll take the 1% or 2%. LOL.![]()

Who would have thought that it would take WccfTech to actually explain the settings in Dirt 5. Benchmarks using SAM On/Off with RT On/Off. At 1440p/4k using a 5900X.
To be fair I still see no benefit using RT in any game.
Rt IQ sucks in all games. And no, I don't need your still photos because you don't agree. We've been down that road before.Dirt 5's ray tracing is pretty much the worst in any game in the last 3 years. The performance reflects that nicely and so whether you turn it on or off is pretty much irrelevant, you won't notice it in the visuals or performance.
Rt IQ sucks in all games.
However, it does show that when we are dealing with a new ported game to PC AMD has the advantage.
LOLNope, it looks quite decent in some. In dirt 5 they've cut it's scope down as far as possible just so they could stick the "Ray Tracing" sticker on it - Ray Tracing has become a meme, every game will have it now: Hey look guys our game has ray tracing! We cast a reflection on this one flower here, but its totally there!
As for your advantage statement, common man you know that's flat out wrong. ALL dirt games since the xbox 360 era have been sponsored by AMD to run better on AMD hardware. If you really think this is some new advancement and proliferation moment that means AMD will win in ported games, then you haven't been a gamer for very long cause Dirt 5 has run abnormally well for over 10 years now and by abnormally well, I mean the results fail to be replicated in other games lol
LOL
Nope RT sucks in all games. And I find absolutely no use for it as it offers nothing tangible while gaming. Even Steve from HU said as much. You simply have just an "opinion". I on the other hand am just as entitled to my opinion in which I'm not alone in either.
Of course we notice improved visuals in games. We always have.I have the same feelings on ray tracing tbh. All the hype about it is BS. It's still too much of a performance hit for me to ever be bothered enabling it. I'd rather the game just ran smoother. When am I gonna notice how much nicer shadows look....? Especially in a fast paced game. Substantial performance hit for no reason.
Over the next couple of generations we will really see the benefits... just not so much in this one.
Yeah so what I said, right now it's pretty irrelevant and not worth enabling. When it doesn't chunk your FPS into the ground I would obviously use it. But people go on about it like it's the new sliced bread right now![]()
Don't think you played COD Black Ops Cold War. Looks incredibleRt IQ sucks in all games. And no, I don't need your still photos because you don't agree. We've been down that road before.
Meaning badly ported Ubisoft games. However, it does show that when we are dealing with a new ported game to PC AMD has the advantage. That setiment has been echoed here for many months now regarding future ported games to PC.

People were recommending the 2060 and 2070 last gen with the deal-maker point being "it can also do raytracing" as a 5700 got the elbow.. the low stack absolutely suck at it, that is what was being falsely put as a selling point.
Nice sig. Yes, yes I am. RT Ultra settingsThis just sound like trolling now. BTW. Steve from HU and his co-presenter both use Nvidia cards within their personal systems.
