The thread which sometimes talks about RDNA2

From GN last video. I wonder how many fps they had between two of them.

Well this thread has turned far too sour. So many people banging on and on about NVidia trolls etc etc but all I see is NVidia haters. I don't care for any of that in truth and would rather everyone got along without this nonsense. Surely we all enjoy our hardware, regardless of red or green or blue in it?
Kind of Ironic that the ones with new hardware and a game to go with it are posting/trolling/derailing this thread. At least Ech has an excuse he's waiting for an AMD stock drop:p

:D

Unfortunately when I missed out on the 6800XT chance (probably about lottery winning odds looking back) I was done with the waiting. Do not regret one bit now and DS/Valhalla have been a great release to wind back with over the break.

A friend up the road got me to advise him on a rig to do music editing, gaming and photoshop artwork as he was a mac user. He has his rig and borrowed my vega while he sources a 30 series card.. hes still got my vega lol. If I see a 6800 I will get him to bag that too of course but what a joke even buying pre-builds you cant get a new gen card in them.

Some of the differences in framerate for no perceived change in visuals really is a bit eyebrow raising. Yes maybe the games rendering lighting accurately, but at the same time if it can be done and look 99.9% the same using traditional methods without bending your frame rate over for a good rogering...i fail to see the appeal in a lot of instances.

It seems like currently game devs have to go to pretty extreme lengths to showcase it with an obvious difference, overuse of lights and puddles on the ground to show the reflections etc. And even then that same type of effect can be achieved using screen space reflections. There was a jayz2cents video in bfv where he showed this off and the real difference RT made wasn't something you would really notice , just found the vid and linked it below:

Surely that's just the same screenshot twice, i can't see a difference.

You can see some darker shadows on the shelves and top of the fridge but that's about it. While the fanboys would like to make out that Cyberpunk is the best thing since sliced bread, I can see from countless Youtube videos that the game is actually very shallow.

GTA series has far more AI interaction with npc's but the Cyberjunk characters are mindless zombies. What on earth were CDProjekt thinking?? Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm currently finishing off mafia definite edition and honestly it's almost more impressive than cyberpunk even with its limitations as a remake.
It also has shadows and reflections too :D

Gone through multiple scenes with RT on Vs off on a 3080 and I can't tell the difference other than the framerate halving. In some specific area like the water it's noticeable but I don't think they needed RT for that, they just slacked on the non RT water. Half life 2 has better water than cp2077 non RT :D:D.

However I can see a difference with DLSS on (more blurry, less sharp textures, fuzziness on fine thin objects), so it's DLSS off and RT off for me

Shoulda got a 6800xt then

I bet Nvidia put something fishy in CP too. They are not only targeting AMD cards but also their old cards. :)
THIS. It's probably true as they are only interested in trying to hamstring the competition and hoodwink consumers using their army of shillbots so they can keep milking the loyal fanbase with their over priced offerings.
