The Ultimate Car Wash

Jesus, just goes to show that some people most definately have more money than sense.

Wish I'd have thought up charging 5k to clean a car though  .

Try www.sportscarprotection.com instead, he's a hell of a lot cheaper and just as good :p

Look through their gallery section and the max value of their customers cars is £200k with the majority being £100k Ferrari's, nice supercars but not the high end stuff.
The guy featured on 5th Gear was cleaning cars worth millions, he is pitched at the top end and www.sportscarprotection.com are aiming themselves at the mainstream supercar owner.

That is the difference - Top end stuff always attracts the big money.

To the owners of those cars the 5% better cleaning is worth spending the extra couple of thousand ££££'s

As I've said further up the thread, there is no difference in the product, merely the marketing. It works.

The latter company certainly clean the top-end stuff too, whether they're shown on the website is largely irrelevent since this sort of business is driven by word of mouth.

The guy in the video (Paul) posts on PH.

The £5k clean, which is soon to be surpassed by a £7k one takes 2 weeks solid to do. When you consider the cost of the products and time away from home, it's not really that much money.

www.miracledetail.co.uk

He does have the marketing absolutely sussed though :)

Think you will find the ultimate car wash is in Hinckley <sp> and soon Northampton

Topless girls soaping you baby down...

LOL

:D

with miracle detail, its just the one guy, so you know you'll be getting the same level of service all the time. With sports car protection its a team. How do you know that you might have got a newly hired jeff who might not do as good a job as the main specialist at the company.

I'd be extremely surprised if that was the case. They utilise a 3 stage process. The guy in the vid uses a 60 odd stage process for the £5000 car wash. Following the work, for the next couple of years, simply hosing down the car is enough to get it absolutely immaculate.

As he's cleaning cars worth so much money, I would imagine a not so insignificant amount of that £5K goes towards his liability insurance.

If he gets it wrong, the respray will cost tens of thousands.

Completely wrong.

Paul Dalton, last I heard, drove a 996.

As a percentage of the cost of the car, it's not really that much.. the Maserati there costs in excess of £500,000 if I'm thinking of the right one. £5k is only 1% of its value to have it looking immaculate which is something you'd want for a car like this.

If you took a £400 Rover down to a £5 hose down, you'd be spending more relatively.

Saw it on Fifth Gear, was amazed at the results.

Tbh, If I had a £100,000 car, I would'nt mind paying out £5,000 to get it washed. Even if it does take a day or two. The results would be worth it. Would give the car an extremely nice look to it. Would keep it in tip top condition. I bet the car is silky smooth. You would be touching it all the time :D

£5,000 does seem, a lot, but taking into account the products, materials he uses, which are the best you can and do cost quite a bit, its worth the £5,000 asking price.

Bonus, that you can call him out it you have a mark on the car or what not and he will be there.

Fair credit to Paul, he found a gap in the market and has started up something great. Considered the best in the business at cleaning your car, no wonder hes got 2 Veyron's on the waiting list.

in what sense?

"Our staff are some of the country’s finest detailers, professionally trained to the highest standards, and every one is passionate about detailing cars."

Thats a quote from sports car protection.

If i was paying that much i would definitly want to see the particular guys previous work before he did mine.

The type of car he cleans the tyres probably cost £5k
Exactly.

It only sounds like a lot of money to people for whom £5k is a lot of money. If you can afford a MC12, you probably aren't short of a bob or 10.
