I had some sausages from Jimmy's Farm. Origional Pork sausage was very very good !

Always get my sausages from Jimmies, excellent quality, no fat comes out of them when they are cooked, and they do a huge and interesting range.
His bacon is also very good.
Id like to try a joint of meat sometime but its very expensive, although you pay for quality, ill have to get saving.

Brother in laws family live close to the farm so its easy to get supplies although you can order online which ive done a few times.
Even popped into the farm shop a few times and met the man himself once.

If this place is the sort of butchers I know an love. Get him to hang a nice marbley (word?) Rib 'o Beef in his fridge for a few weeks. Then cook it as it is all green and sticky...:)

ha-ha sorry Tesco Finest is not a good sausage. Unless you like the cheap rubbish.

Go to farm shops and try there ranges. Even better get a sausage machine of ebay. Then go to your butchers who can supply you with sausage skins and meat.

There dead easy to make and are absolutely sublime. Mixed game sausage F T W especially with a port sauce..

Red wine and onion beef sausages are also great.

Can't believe you know so much about sausages :D

My local butcher's are sublime.

How anyone can say that cheap sausages are better is beyond me. It's just like eating rusk, fat, skin, and connective tissues. Not my idea of a delicious meal. And have you read the meat content? Tesco value for example contains 30% meat. Think what rubbish comprises the remaining 70%.

The supermarket upper-market efforts are a big improvement, but to echo the sentiments of this thread, butchers/farmhouse sausages win hands down everytime in terms of ingredients and taste. And if you disagree with the latter get your tastebuds checked.

I'm a fan of the Asda Extra Special sausages, they do quite a range and they're all great! Im on the pork and apple sausages at the moment.. Roll on breakfast time! :)

Asda's Extra Special Angus Beef aren't too bad as far as "cheap" quality sausages go.
But for top class bangers there's a butchers in Lyndhurst (New Forest) who does the best Venison Sausages I've ever had. Simply sublime.

Homemade venison and redwine bangers for the in.

Or the wild boar sausages from the farm shop in the middle of the Jura. sublime.

I'm with you there!
I had venison sausages the other night and they were superb.....this is making me hungry:(

In all seriousness, a decent local farm shop selling venison sausages are usually the most succulent and with the most vibrant taste.

Or as they're more commonly known.

Bambi Bangers :D

They're quite an acquired taste though, I remember when I first tried Bambi Bangers that I really didn't like them as I thought they were far too strong a flavour.

Get a Wild Boar sausage down your throat. Venison is absolutely beautiful, but a proper sausage needs to come from a piggie animal and there ain't any finer tasting piggie than a big fat smelly boar.

Garlic and Sage =Win!!
I once saw a Country File ep about sausages, it was a eye opener.
Sausages where the word 'PORK' is mensioned in the package by law must contain atleast 30% pork apparently. But by law they dont state which parts of the pig. So what most companies do is put in crap loads of Pig skin, fat and other bits to increase the 'pork' content... i still eat cheap sausages sometimes though :)

EDIT, Also my friends parents makes there own sausages with there own breed Pigs, i must say they are LUSH, They are much harder than corporate sausages and full on taste!, they also like em low on salt and i think that works just fine,,,
