***The Unofficial Samsung Galaxy S III LTE (I9305) Thread***

OH and I was advised to contact samsung. I acted daft and said the phone crashed during a firmware update and is going to the service centre which is not the best timing as I going down south next thursday!

Doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic on these forums for the LTE version of these phones. Can I check with you guys though as I really fancy getting one of these:

- I plan on using it with my 3 PAYG sim (I love 3 as I seem to get awesome speeds compared to T-Mobile)

- BUT I plan on buying a phone that's currently locked to T-Mobile.

Can I use Stoosh's guide to simply unlock my phone and use my 3 SIM in that superfast 3g mode until 3 roll out 4g later this year for free (and then the LTE portion of this phone will kick in)?

Also, do Samsung keep the official firmware releases of firmware for both the standard 3G and LTE versions of these phones current?

Yes I unlocked my phone with that guide stoosh posted.

And yes it will take advantage of threes dual channel HSDPA.

Samsung will update this phone to 4.2 JB yes. And quite soon I believe.

Hi i got a 2nd hand 6 month old one for £240 on the bay. It was 4.1.2 so I rooted and downloaded official firmware to 4.1.1 so that I could sim unlock it using that guide. (The guide doesn't work for 4.1.2 btw.)
Now I haven't done anything I'm sitting here using 4.1.1 official...Does anyone have any recommendations for custom roms?
I've heard that cyanogenmod is good, but does anyone have the link to the added good stuff that the mod includes? ta

that unlock guide worked on my custom 4.1.2 ROM (Pandoriam 5.7).

That ROM is what I'm still using now and it's done me well. Lots of tweaks.

Hi i'm using the sentinel rom atm.
Just a side note, was @ Cromwell Road in London and noticed a nice little "DC" symbol on my internet icon - dual channel i presume.
I'm on the talktalk mobile network, which piggybacks off vodafone i think. Does anyone else know of vodafone's DC areas?

I just thought I'd drag this thread up from the forum mine ;)

After seeing adverts that EE have doubled their 4G speeds I did a quick test in London today...

47657 down and 31681 up, not to bad at all :D

I was very impressed when my colleagure did a speedtest yesterday. 50/25Mbps.

They just need to lower prices and make it unlimited data :p

I'd thought it would be nice to bump this from the past ;)

It looks like Samsung is at last getting around to releasing 4.3 for the i9305 :D
