The value of the pound

Yeah Goldman Sachs often "orders" "the central banks" to just do whatever it wants.

Well in the not too distant past the 'banks' ordered the 'rating agencies' to make everything look triple AAA, and indeed they did. Banks failed over it, yet ratings agencies were never censured.
I think the pound is trash, not due to any conspiracy, but moneyed people know where problems like, and Brexit Britain is a major problem, which will then become a major opportunity, but they need to crash everything first,
Looking at you James Dyson, and Reece-Mogg. Making Hay while the sun shines and burns the common people.

This sounds like more nonsense, why does JRM need everything to crash? Is it because his dad wrote a book and therefore with some hand waving we’ll have a claim that he’s therefore going to make a gazillions dollars?

No, but the stifled economy, has afforded god market conditions for his investment company, and their relocation in part to Dublin to insulate themselves from the effect of the Brexit he wants, will make and indeed has made him money.
Similar to John Redwood speaking out against investment in a Brexit Britain, and steering money elsewhere, yet still wanting Brexit to happen.

It is a matter of fact they've made money from the economic mess the country is it, mainly due to its pathway, and the uncertainty and future mess that will occur.

This is nonsense, they haven’t relocated.

They manage emerging markets funds they invest in... well emerging markets. One of these emerging markets funds, their newer frontier fund, is domiciled in Dublin, it invests in Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America etc...

So far your argument isn’t too convincing if you’re not even getting basic facts right.

No it wont, the ice melting is likely to shift the Atlantic current away from the UK, making us on par with similar latitudes and generally maritime, it will be colder.

Ssssh you clearly aren't believing in this enough and have spent too long listening to experts. We are now entering an era where we refuse to listen to experts. Plus they are only guessing. My statement that Scotland will become as hot as Spain is as valid as their guess. :p Am I doing this right?

We will just grow it in massive tents right? And no it wont be -30

Not every day obviously. If the gulf stream ever shifts course as global warming happens then we would see the average temperatures drop by 10C. SInce -26 is Englands lowest temp and -29C is scotland you could then expect that to drop to -36 and -46.

The average winter temp in Scotland is 0C so that would become -10C.

And yes it would seriously affect what crops and food we could grow.

(but on the plus side, not expected to happen for at least another 100 years so we will all be dead)

Technically both can be true, there are conflicting reports (perhaps as new more accurate models come out) about what will actually happen, might as well just wait for it.

So utterly irrelevant then and doesn't take into account the next 100 years of technological developments then?

You are correct, we will be dead and so will my kids

And those investments in emerging markets make more money for him and his investors when the pound is weaker.

Well not necessarily and I guess it depends how they handle their FX risk. Regarless a weak pound has relatively little relevance to say a European or American investor aside from perhaps being negatively affected by any cash reserves held in GBP.

It’s not really an argument for him wanting the UK economy to crash and burn, he doesn’t even work for the fund anymore - he stepped down from his role when he became an MP and he’s resigned from his advisory role/place on their executive committee since being appointed to the cabinet.

Actually moving fairly regularly (least once a mo th) between the UK and Milan these days.

What we thinking in terms of cash in for euros quickly now or hold off till after Oct and see what happens.

Realistically I will be going for at least the next 9-12 months
