***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Hi,

Looking for a recommendation for a first vape to get us off the occasional drunk rollies and e-cigs which we've also been trying. I know next to nothing about them, apart from some appear to look more like a bong and generate ridiculous amounts of vapour which I don't fancy.

The locals garages all sell a few brands (can't remember which), but wondered if these may be ok or if we are better off going online and getting a starter kit from Amazon or like?

I am aware that there are loads of different types of vapes around, so its probably not the easiest thing to do, but would appreciate any recommendations for something simple, effective and cheapish to start with.

Thanks

Hi mate...

It's hard to recommend something like that as most of us here a hobbyist, have and used far too much gear and spend too much money.

The three main companies are aspire, kanger and innokin. I would stick to something that's made by them rather than get something from the local garage. you will be getting far more bang for the buck.

if you want a pen style one, all three companies have they own start kit. Personally I think the aspire heads are better, and it's best to get something with adjustable power so it can be adjusted to suit your mood, but they do cost more. I normally vape at what is considered low watts but when drunk I need something high powered to stop me smoking.

anything here will work.. http://myepack.co.uk/kits.html

if you are feel brave get something like http://myepack.co.uk/aspire-plato-kit.html

the 1.8ohm will be more than fine and it's a darn good coil, but the 0.4 will make massive clouds.

What ever you decide, have a look for it on youtube. :)

Fair enough... I highly recommend the Cleito tank then. The flavour is good, the coils aren't too expensive and it's really easy to take apart and put back together again.

It also has a really good RTA available and a fat glass option to expand the capacity.

One of my favourite juices... Jaccs Custard only takes two tanks to kill the cotton :)

Just picked up the 4x30ml for £17 from Jackamoo Juice.

I got the blue slush, twister, summer breeze and jungle juice.

Currently got the blue slush in and compared to the rejuiced one I would say they are both nice, different taste to each of them - only just started it so need a few more hits before I can decide which I prefer. There is a slightly cooler / menthol feel on the exhale from Jackamoo but both are refreshing.

You would be best going to a proper vaping shop, where you can physically see and hold different devices, try out some flavours and have a good natter in person with the peeps behind the counter.

Failing that, there are a number of decent online shops that do starter kits and have plenty of introductory information for newbies. I started with TECC, myself - www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk

There are some good YouTube reviewers who look at various products and can give you an idea of what's out there, whether it's suitable for you, etc.
Most will actually vape on these so you will see how much/little cloud they give out.

Generally, the device is just a battery unit with varying degrees of settings. It's the tank that will define how much cloud you get.

Some popular starter kits are: Joyetech AIO, eLeaf iStick 20w and the eLeaf iStick Mini.

And Joyetech, eLeaf, Sigelei, and several others...

Just picked up the new Smok TFV8 and H-PRIV 220W kit

Dammit - Lost my Cleito....

Whaddy'all reckon - New Cleito, or a different tank?
Must be subohm with replacement atty heads. Not interested in RTAs, as I have drippers for that already.

iJoy Tornado Nano? Has an RTA deck as well as replacement heads. Using one right now (RTA deck) on my Minikin 150.

E: Forgot to mention, it's 24mm in diameter.

Slight update, couldn't wait to try the TFV8, have my Smok X Cube II with a Crown tank here at work but only cheap DIY juice I made for wastage, like to keep my branded concentrates for long as possible! Any way have the Smok on the MOD and started low but currently sat at 140W and my word, it is a beast!!! It's going to drink juice but much much more flavour than my crown the tank a keeper!! Very happy.

Great, thanks both for taking time to write that. I'll have a read up and report back!

Cheers

Finally got the Limitless RDTA set up nicely on my mech! 4.5 wrap, 22ga/0.6mm kanthal, lightly twisted, spaced, 3.5mm inner diameter, comes out to 0.14 ohms. Tested, and it puts out 50-80W depending on battery charge.

Lovely flavour that I wasn't getting before, and I'm certain it's down to the wicking. I've tried long wicks (to bottom of glass) and short wicks (above the glass), and both had their cons. Long wicks didn't wick fast enough, and used up loads of space in the tank, as well as causing air bubbles to get stuck. Short wicks couldn't keep up. I had to poke airholes (which causes leaks), as well as holding it sideways/upside down for 3-4 seconds before or after a toke for it maintain a decently saturated wick.

This time, I cut the wicks short on one side and long on the other. This takes up a little space, but it means when the mod is sat, it can still uptake juice, and I think the shorter side allows air in, since I haven't had to poke any air holes, while also stepping up the juice flow while I'm vaping! I can increase the VG of my juice too, before I was using 50/50, now I'm using 75/25, and it's still wicking better. Amazing how one slight change can totally redefine an atty :D

Any recommendations for an easy to build rta tank, been vaping for 7 years now and I have only used pre built coils, want to try my hand at building my own.

I have a sub tank mini but the rta deck is to small and fiddly, my eyes aren't what they used to be, so need something bigger.

Try the aspire Cleito with the RTA deck. Its big and easy to build on. I have 2 3mm dia Clapton's in it and its smoother and better flavour than the stock coils by a long shot. Its a velocity style deck. I will be getting the bigger glass for it too even though it looks odd but it does increase the juice capacity. I have only had the RTA deck for a few days and I'm.useless at building coils but this was easy. Just awaiting some SS316L Clapton wire to come into stock then I can match the flavour and vapour in this to my COV Vengeance tank.
The Cleito can be as low as £18 and the RTA £10 and the glass is about £6. Pricey but you can always revert to the stock coils if needs be. VaporTrail Chanel on YouTube did a decent review of the tank with the RTA.

Good shout for the Cleito, just checked out some videos on it, looks like a good tank, I like the fact it can take pre built coils, that way if it turns out DIY is not for me I can still use the tank, cheers for the recommendation :)

Is a ohm meter really necessary to check your builds, could I not use the readout on my mod ? If I find out I like building I will probably get one but don't want to spend too much just testing the waters ;)

I'd like to plonk the Avocado out there too, both the original and 24 versions. If you need a big deck, you can't go wrong with those, very simple to build and wick, and excellent flavour. They are rebuild-only though.

You don't need an ohm meter either, your mod will work absolutely fine, only thing to watch out for is accidentally firing with your fingers near coils. You'd think it would never happen, but I've seared my fingers a couple of times :D

Built up my magma about 3-4 days ago. Gave it a good wash tho in hot water about 5 days ago and let it air dry. Anyhow i built it by keeping the dual coils already in, put some bacon cotton in, tried a new wicking method by keeping the cotton ends short so didnt go down the juice well too much and put some apple pie juice on 50.50 and it vaped really well. Got some really nice flav off it for the first 2 days and somehow it was amazin the airflow that was coming in. Leaked a bit and dunno if it was the cause but now the airflow isnt as airy as it was and the flav has muted somewhat. Cant be the cotton gone already can it. Its pretty soaked as i keep it topped up. I can increase the watts but barely any change whatsoever compared to when i first had it setup where i could change wattage and get a big change. Oh using middle airhole. When i first wicked it, the medium airhole was very airy and the largest was really really airy. Not so much now for some reason i mean the middle and largest airholes feel the same. Could it be the airholes are blocked up by juice in the elbow joint of it the magma? I tried blowing through the holes but no juice came out on top under coils. Tried putting rolled up tissue paper in to absorb it, which only got a little out on the ends.

What could have gone wrong?

Oh and the flav of the apple pie has gone from apple pie to now more of a popcorn flav. Very strange.

I have it around 23w which is 4.8v at 1.0 dual coil. Can go up to 30w but id prefer a cooler vape. If i go down to about 19w 4.4v its cooler but cant taste it as well.

Using my istick 30w still till pico comes which might come within a few days as FT tracking says its arrived in gb on the 20th. So hopefully just few more days. Ordered on 8th or somit of july, posted 13th, tracking kicked in about the 18th saying dispatched to uk.

iJoy Tornado Nano! Picked mine up from Fasttech for about £11. Comes with pre-built coils too which are great, if you find out you don't want to go down to rebuildable route.
