***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Aye I've seen the videos about regarding the issue, seems the manufacturer won't budge as it's out of the pitiful 3 month warranty, Amazon don't want to know either.

I have a soldering iron at home, never used it and no idea how too but as I have a backup mod that works I'm going to dabble with it later!

it's pretty easy, and worth doing, had to do this with mine and it's been running perfectly ever since, i dont think it was well soldered in originally as you can't see on the solder blob where it broke off from.

you don't need extra solder, just strip some of the insulation off and heat up the original blob, push in the wire and hold it in place till it cools.

Same thing happened to mine mate. You need to take it apart and re-solder a wire but I couldn't be bothered with all of that so I chucked it.

Bought a Smoant Charon. Been happy ever since.

How are you finding the Charon? Can't decide between the VW and VV versions so think I'll end up with one of each!

Same chip as the Battlestar?

Better in the hand than the Battlestar. I think the chip is somewhat different though. Seems a lot more efficient with battery life too (lasts longer).

I got the original one with the up/down buttons for wattage, not the dial for voltage.

Chip wise, with the Battlestar, if you took off a tank and replaced it with a new one, you'd get the 'new tank yes/no' option which you'd have to reset each time - this was in VW mode too and not TC.

With the Charon, it resets every time you take off a tank which in my opinion is a lot better.

Can't fault it for £30 odd I paid for it from FT. No rattle at all which was quite common on the reviews I watched prior to getting it.

EDIT: by reset I mean the resistance zero's.

That sounds easy, even a dunce like me could do that! Cheers Adolf

My RX2/3 died yesterday, keep getting a "check battery" error which by all accounts is something to do with the internal wiring. Oddly in 2 battery mode it shows the error but in 3 battery config it's fine and works as intended.

Back to my back-up mod while I try and fight the fact it's 2 weeks outside of warranty.

It's a loose wire/ bad solder on the sled. Happened to mine too. There is videos showing where to fix . Stripping the mod wasn't difficult.

Use ceramic tweezers to hold the wire in place. Easy as said

Good, the one thing mildly annoying about the Battlestar is the resistance not resetting with new tanks/builds, have to remove atty, hit fire to zero it, put atty back on to get the new coil question.

£50 will get me one of each, now to wait for a decent coupon code :D

Solid mod mate. Loads better than the ***** that Smok etc. are putting out recently.

6 day delivery from 3fvape, another trusted Chinese vendor that has an epacket option :)

Azeroth RTA will be here this morning :D

I'm looking for recommendations for a secondary RDTA.

I have an Avocado 24, and initially didn't get on with it, dry hits etc so to the back of the cupboard it went. Gave it another chance and it turns out it was just my wicking technique, stuffing too much into the holes and blocking off airflow. After sorting that out, I love the thing! Slightly loose top cap makes it not too pocket friendly for work though, is this a design used in most RDTAs? Are there any that physically screw onto the deck?
Anyhoo, I'm looking for another one to add to my collection, like to have a few juices going at the same time, mainly running the DH Cryo range through my Avocado. I have had my eye on the RDTA 5, does anyone have thoughts on that, or recommendations on another? I see the 5s is coming sometime in July, but tank capacity is pretty low on that.

Smoant Charon! (albeit two batteries)

wanna try and stick to 3, as i have 2 sets of matched trio's going spare atm, although tbh i'm trying to puch myself away from the cloud chasing so maybe this is a good thing as i'm currently down to just the istick pico, tesla stealth and the provari 3 functioning

Hi, looking for some advice?

Quick summary of my vaping experience and where I'm going with query if any one can help:

4 weeks on Saturday Iv'e been off a~30 year(~15 years cigs/~15 roll ups) habit.

Could still kill for a fag though it's not leaving in a hurry despite vaping.

Started on both Nautilus 5ml and mini as it was the only atomisers I didn't choke on inhale with 3mg nicotine(any higher and I'd choke), then moved onto the Aspire 2 after eventually finding a flavour I enjoyed-Swamp Thang, then worked out I'm a mouth to lung vaper.

Should point out I'm all about flavour and not cloud chasing-straight to lung is probably not going to happen, not into big clouds either.

I'm slowly getting to know my way around coils etc after burning out many many coils due to not knowing they had a wattage rating.:o

1. After watching vids looking for vapes, I discovered BFB straight outta the toaster, but while watching Youtube, found out different tanks give more flavour and after many hours everything was pointing to a Smok Spiral, so bought one and right enough it's full of flavour on the 0.6Ohms@25w, there is a lower 0.15ohms but wants more watts-it's too hot and makes me choke but over the moon anyway as I'm guzzling that bfb juice like crazy.

One week later coil starts burning so ordered a packet, while I'm at it, ordered a smok stick with a 5ml big baby beast, envisaged popping in 0.6 ohm coils and an adapter for the big bore, then it all goes Pete Tong....

Coils arrived for the Spiral, pop in a new one and it's sitting [email protected], any higher than 15w, and you can't get a draw.

Swap it out but ends up there is only one of [email protected] in the packet so haven't used any more.

Am I just looking at writing off the Spiral as looking up google and just seeing Smok coils are terrible?

Will I get hassle form the jungle place sending them back as 1 coil for £17 surely isn't on?

2. Right onto the Smok Stick, it came from the bay, was a week late and meant to be black but they sent a purple one as the black one got lost in the post, stupidly after they told me just refuse delivery for a refund after informing them I didn't want a purple one, I thought what the hell accepted delivery, charged it for 4 hours before use, but put the big baby beast on my mod and straight off the bat it is leaking from the air vent like crazy, dumped my juice all over a counter at work.

Googled it, it's plagued with leaking, tried the fixes but it's running out the bottom no matter what, to top it off the stick lasted not very long at all and it's losing it's charge after not much use at all in comparison to my cool fire 4's.

So am I due grief sending it back to the bay or can I demand they refund it as certainly not wanting a replacement or anything else Smok?

Is Smok QC really that bad, is it just down to bad luck, and why don't youtube reviewers talk about coils or the big baby beast leaking problems instead of get it they are amazing, do they get paid that much to promote them?

Sorry for the long winded waffle, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

smok tanks are great, and when the coils work they're great too.

unfortunately the QC isn't the greatest but a few tips:

have you been sure to prime the coil (aka soak the hell out of it) before installing? if you just install then straight up blast it there's no juice on the coil yet and it burns.

try and be sure you're getting legit, there are knock offs out there and considering oem aren't always top notch then i'd shudder to think of the fakes.

i'd send them back as defective, although they'll likely try and pass it off as consumable.

Tommy have you considered an RTA? You could save a heap on coil heads and be able to customise the vape as you like, you'd get a lot more options for mouth to lung tanks too.
