They will leak if left on their side for any length of time, due to the wick hole and wick, and depending on if the fill hole is open or closed will determine how quickly that happens - Generally a genesis with a straw wick, with a gap around the wick and wick hole and fill hole open, will start leaking pretty sharpish if left on its side, where as the same setup with the fill hole closed/blocked will leak a lot slower but will still happen.

My RSST can be on its side for around 40mins before it started to come out of the wick itself and into the top cap, Solid wicks slow this down even further and most people with a solid wick it wont leak.

Edit- my Aga-t2 will leak pretty much straight away due to the fill hole being left open and the RSST has it blocked. Also aga-t has a thinner wick compared to the RSST which i think also helps in slowing it down on the RSST compared to the aga.

Cheers for clearing that up.

I can understand it not being completely sealed due to it's design. Like you say about the wick and how tight it is makes perfect sense and obviously having the butt plug in will aid a lot to leaking issues.

What gauge wire and mesh would you suggest getting? (I normally use el toro juices)

I was gonna order it from here:
http://www.themeshcompany.com/acatalog/25-micron-super-fine-mesh.html#aWSS500SF_2dA4

Grab some 400 and 500 at the same time - you will get 2 free sheets of usually either 200 or 325 with those (somtimes they will send extra 400 or 500 instead of the lower stuff), so best of all worlds, then generally 400 is the most commonly used for mesh wicks, some people prefer 500/325.

For wire, again commonly used is .20mm Kanthal A1, with ribbon becoming a close second 0.5mm stuff, but its more for mechanical mods due to the low resistance nature of it.

0.3mm Ribbon is more suited to higher resistances, the 0.5 stuff is good at getting around 1.5ohm coils, 0.3 is for 1.8 and above.

For mesh sizes for the wicks head to this made by Todd of toddsreviews

Anyone know where I can buy some liquid near Bath? I'm worried the 40ml I brought with me isn't going to last the whole week in Rome (I fly out tomorrow and have been visiting family for the last few days so can't mix any more up).

Well, after searching high and low it seems there is nowhere convenient. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I always like to have plenty of spares so I panicked a bit :p

Ordered today. . .

RSST Genesis Atomizer
Sheet of A4 #500 mesh
Kanthal A1 Wire - 0.2mm Diameter
60ml Cigarrillos Naturales

That will do for today. Looking forward to building my first coil and wick!

:)

just seen ya post on UKV, cant go wrong with that combo, add some 400 next time, you have the flexibility of finding what works for your personal juices with 2 types, myself i have all of them 200/325/400/500 and 50m of ribbon, 20m of normal .2 kanthal and 10m of .25 and .30 stuff. Mainly due to not getting the hang of the Aga-T to begin with was wasting mesh and wire constantly, now im using it to find the perfect setup for me. Got a second RSST coming tomorrow so i can have 1 working while trying new things on the other, plus ill have spares.

KnightStalker on UKV aswell btw.

When you've got a rebuildable setup like the RSST, mesh and wire, apart from e-liquid, are there any other consumables that you need to regularly buy?

Also, how long does the atomiser last before having to rebuild it?

None really, apart from having mesh and wire around nothing else needed for them, unless you break it obviously.

Atomiser as in the wick, well that depends really, a wick can last months of use before needing to change it, all you do from time to time is drain the tank, dry burn it, which is pressing the button/pulsing it to get it hot and blow or brush off the crud, sort the coil out if it needs it and add juice and away it goes again, theres a few guys i know who have had wicks for 2-3 months and never cleaned them as they generally only use 1 type of juice in it.

When you notice a drastic change in the flavour or vapour, or if you constantly get hotspots, then a re-wick and re-coil is on the cards. Or even if you want to change it because you can.

Thanks KnightStalker. Looks like a very good investment!
I've not actually started vaping yet as I'm still waiting for my ego-t kit (thanks RM!) but it's good to know what's possible in the near future.

Finally joined the gym today. Got an induction on Friday :)
As for e-cigs I'm only going to be spending money on ejuice, mesh/kanthol/boge cartos now and will not get carried away buying mods and stuff.

Dropping the stinkies for e-cigs has been a lifestyle change for me. I hardly even game and I'm considering selling my gaming rig.

:D

I've got a ego-t battery (from the VH-Star kit) and im looking at a boge xxl cartomiser tank. What fitting do i need so it sits flush with the battery? Is it a collar or something?

You need the Mini ViVi Nova EGO cone. What tank have you got? The boge F17 holds XXL carto's and it fits the ego battery, and with the nova cone, it finishes it all off nicely
