No one gets leaking other than me, damn I really need to recoil this don't I....

Gently blow into your kayfun now, really gently, do you get liquid escape out of the air hole?

Micro coiling/cotton use is completely foreign to me, do you do this in your Kayfun?

To be 100% honest, on my first go on the KFL i went to unscrew it from my Evic and i turned the whole tank by mistake which ended up with it partially unscrewed from the base.
This did give me leaks from the air hole, as the KFL works on a pressure system and obviously i messed this up.
On my 3rd coil and maybe 15-20 full tanks vaped since and not 1 drop has leaked.

Have u tried a small rubber washer or similar at bottom of the g bell to extend the centre pin?
Going by google that looks similar to a genny style atomizer, so my ghetto fix on my Protank with the same issue probably wont work.

If your getting leaking from the airhole, then your wicks are sitting too close/high to the air hole. The wick holds eliquid and if its too close the air hole, eliquid drops down it.

With the Kayfun I presume I just need to use up all the juice, fully strip and tighten the lots and then refill it and it should be leak free I guess?

The rubber washer thing wont work with the g bell the internal connector around the 510 threat is partially recessed so the centre pit doesnt touch it when you've fully screwed the unit on and run out of thread :(

My wicks are no where near the air hole?

Recoil with long wick, remove the chimney and trim down as much as possible, job done. All in the internal metal chamber with them around the coil in a circular motion with nothing being on the outer of the centre section?

From memory though I think I could have trimmed it down a bit more and had a teeny bit too much wick still as it was hard to get it all around the base perfectly, that's probably my fault though?

The key to coilling the KFL is use very little wick. I use cotton and my wicks don't even touch the bottom. The pressure just sucks up the juice.

It is indeed but i just cant get on with it, still got quite a bit from the 10ml bottle i got earlier this week.

So if anyone wants it, trust message me and if you cover the postage ill send it out.

Sent you a trust message :)
(but I'm betting I've been too slow and either Craig or Scorch have beaten me to it!) :p

Ahh I see, Smokedog, you follow a tutorial or have pictures of your cotton coils?
I'd like to given cotton a go soon!

Check the tutorial section out on UKVapers - cotton +microcoiling is all the rage.
It really is very simple, just be sure to use lower res wire (I get on well with 28AWG or 0.32mm A1 Kanthal) and heat it hot before coiling.
An M3 screw (same ones holding your lightswitch to the walls) can come in handy as the thread's the perfect size. I use a 1.5-3.0mm drill bit, depending on the atty/wick.

Slow and steady, each turn touching the previous, pulling tightly, but not garrotting your fingers. 6-12 turns, depending on the wire (thicker wire = more turns to up the resistance; 8-10 with 28AWG gives me 1.4-1.8 ohms) then remove carefully from the screw/drill bit, flame red hot again and gently but firmly compress between some needle nose pliers (make sure they're flat inside). You don't want to squeeze so hard the coils slip over each other. Repeat until each turn is touching and very carefully install in the Atty - making sure you don't pull too tight on the legs or miss-shape the coil. I find it easier to slide the drill bit back into the coil, which seems to help keep the shape and tightness together.

You'll probably find the overall coil sits higher than usual - this is fine - don't be tempted to poke it with the usual toothpick / paperclip / mini screwdriver. Remove the drill bit/screw, carefully!

Test the resistance and pulse fire a couple of times - you want it to glow red, starting from the middle of the coil and working it's way to each end.

With the cotton, organic, pure cotton from the baby section is fine and doesn't need boiling. Less is more - don't compress or twist it too much or it'll just eat your juice and refuse to give it back when you want it...

You can wet a tiny amount of ejuice one end of the cotton to feed through the coil, or roll it slightly through your fingers, like threading a needle.
DON'T DRY BURN COTTON - EVER! You'll ruin it and have to replace it.

Once happy with the wick, prime with juice and give it a moment to absorb - it'll take a surprising amount, don't saturate it. Test fire. The coil might take a few seconds to work, but it won't glow red.

Rebuild the Atty and fill the tank.

Time for the inevitable VapeGasm as you do a double take at your work :p

no, only a bit of smoke.

here is a video explanation

I was happy. Was. RedMogg filled my head with lofty ideas, now I cannot be satisfied with silica :( Need to get me a mod, some 18350/650s, a charger and an attie that will take a decent coil/cotton combo

Check out the UKVapers classifieds - chap selling a couple of Sigelei 19s and a 20 with updated top caps, Torchy the battery boy for IMR 18350 flat tops and 18650 hi-amp. An RSST is a good starter Genny. I have a Nitecore i4 charger that cost £25 direct from nightcore.co.uk although it is cheaper on FT

Nice to see more people jumping on the kayfun lite. It really is an excellent rebuildable. I have too many atties now with the Rose due in a few weeks. Still need to decide what engraving I want on it too.
