***The "We need another meet in Summer 2013" thread***

Gear talk!?! :p

As long as there are train stations near by I get 75% off tickets so anywhere is fine by me :D

I want 75% off tickets too! No fair! :D Actually no fare, would be good too :D

I'm in Wrexham which travel wise is one journey to Chester then a direct train to London away, or pretty much any other city. At most 2 changes, so it's not really an issue for me. One issue is definitely cost though, mainly because if something is arranged on these boards it invariably changes. Either date or location, or time, which once you've booked the train in advance is a right sod. I've no idea what the costs are for others nearer London, but for me to go down there for a day would cost over £100 spur of the moment. £70 if I book a month ahead and I think it was £58 if I booked 3 months ahead. If I was forced to travel on the day I could end up paying £238 if I wasn't leaving at 5am or 10am. It's very restrictive.

I only bring up this subject again as there always used to be people complaining they couldn't get to London and eventually I've noticed they don't even reply to the threads anymore, probably due to that.

Manchester is a city with plenty going on. Old industrial buildings, shops, enormous football grounds, old style housing, markets. In fact, right outside Picadilly station in Manchester, the buildings around there are really interesting.

I don't really travel much, other than when I have to, so I can see Clapton or family events, so I only have experience of a few cities. Leeds sucks :D
