The Witcher 2: Version 2.0!

if theres one thing i live about CD Projekt and the Witcher 2, it's their stance on DLC. as in it's free :) wish more companies followed their example instead of trying to rip us off with things that should have been in the games in the 1st place :)
 
Yea its free (DLC) and they are still patching the game.

But maybe becuase its the only game they have in the market?

They need to make it as good a possible so more people by it!
 
Well something obviously went wrong... had an invalid or incomplete message from witcher 2 and then tried to re-start the game and now steam is downloading 2GB ! :rolleyes:
 
I've just stopped playing rift and as soon as the program ended steam started downloading a 1,222.1mb patch for the witcher 2, I want to wait and try it out but it's bed time, I will play tomorrow
 
Mine updated to v2.0 earlier via Steam but hard reset my pc when doing the usual steam 'preparing to launch, step 1 of 4...etc...' routine after it finished downloading.

Plus it has ctd'd a few times when playing, which was something I didn't get once in v1.35.

I did change to the ATi 11.10 preview drivers today though, so they could well be causing the issues rather than the v2.0 patch.
 
I have GOG version, absolutely 100% problem-free - downloaded gog autopatcher, it downloaded patch, applied it, game works flawlessly.

Tutorial and arena are pretty awesome. Dark mode in arena - I died in first wave - really hardcore :-). Will have to train a bit.

9 years old aurora engine from NWN1 that was used to incredible potential in TW1 really would not be able to work for TW2.

I play TW2 on ultra details (except ubersampling) at 1920*1200 and it runs beautifully on my GTX560Ti, which is a really cheap card these days.

And I would say it is one of the best looking games ever.

Retail version here, it autoupdated perfectly- no problems.
It seems to me i gained a few frames per second, is it my idea?
