The Witcher-Official Thread

The whole game looks very polished.

The storyline/adult theme of the game fits in with everything really well.

Each video clip/screenshot makes me want to play it.

Consider it preordered :D

One of the games I'm purchasing for this month and next. But is there any known bugs that causes gameplay issue big time?

Thanks for the heads up, just pre ordered it, got tingles in my spine watching the video , thats a good sign as my spine does not lie :p. Time to get me adventering kit out the shed, looks like i am going on a quest

This looks so good i've ... no not pre-ordered (lack of reviews puts me off a little) but I've ordered the book, the gritty atmospheric world looks superb

I think I'm really going to enjoy The Witcher. I'm so sick of the dumbed down high fantasy stuff we've had of late like Oblivion etc. At last a game that promises a real adult rpg experience with more tangible choices and consequences...from everything I've read and seen about it anyway.

RPGs are finally looking up again. What with Mask of the Betrayer (which I thought was great exp for NWN2) and now this game.....fingers crossed

What makes it "an adult" fantasy adventure and not dumbed down?

Because it makes you think things out and not have your hand being held every step of the way as if you're a 10 yr old kid. Choices and consequences like I already said. All sorts of political, racial undertones. Engaging and very complex storyline with all sorts of twists and turns depending on your actions (the game has 3 endings).

You can't do dumb illogical things like join every faction in the game all at once. Infact you are a lone wolf protagonist. The combat/magic/alchemy system sounds very elegant and clever. No dumb level scaling which makes gaining new levels/skills pointless (risk vs reward).

Overall, adult as in 'adult'. With themes that adults face in the real world ....not some mindless playschool romp.

From everything I have seen this game is directly marketed towards adults, not that many games do that. Many games that have age restrictions are not really that mature, it's just the violence. It's clear that they were actually intended for a teen audience.
