What do you guys find the best camera mode is?

Personally, I can't really get used to any of them. No longer play WoW but I can't help feeling they nailed the camera/movement issue.

Not bad so far, combat seems less complex than I'd imagined, seems a tad choppy aswell (may be due to the fact I had to remove a stick of RAM to install, then continued to play with 1 gig)

Intro movie was brilliant.

I love it but it's not perfect, sort of mixed feelings.

The graphics are pretty great, the cutscenes are awesome, the music is awesome, the voice acting is awesome, the story is awesome, the general atmosphere is awesome and the skills/alchemy system is pretty good too but there's just certain things that niggle for me.

Firstly the combat is boring as hell in my eyes, but I am hoping that will change when I get more weapons/techniques. Secondly the camera systems are messed up because high isometric puts the lovely graphics to waste by zooming out too far and making character models look daft, and over the shoulder camera is rubbish because you stick to tiny objects and stairs. Going to experiment with low isometric.

Edit: The default key layout is utter crap too.

I've settled on OTS (over the shoulder) for camera, altho I sometimes switch to the 2nd isometric view (F2) if there is a bunch of monsters around. I think its decent enough once you get used to it but yeah I agree that WoW certainly nailed it for a no fuss but very functional camera.

Eurogamer gave MotB 7/10 as well.....and yet Oblivion got a 10. Go figure eh? :D

Ive only played the game for about 5 minutes to see how it ran. It didnt run as well as i would have liked it too. I had everything turned up and still seeing FPS as low as 20 - 30. Although i havent tried the game since i patched it to 1.1, maybe this will make a change.

I have a lower spec than you and and I am running the patched game at 1680 x 1050, maxed, x2AA and x16AF and its running very smoothly. I have not run fraps as it's something I only do when I am having a frame rate problem (I play games, not benchmarks).

Apart from the obvious change to latest drivers and install October DirectX I do not know what else would help. By the way what resolution are you using.

So, not read all the thread, is it out now? solo play or online only game? worth buying as it looks nice.

easy to play? or another X3 game....

mad rush to the shop and got it :D

insanely jealous of everyone playing it atm. But only have a few hours before i get to play yay. (at work atm)

Surprised at that 7/10 review - what were the reasons given ?

Beautiful looking game and runs really smoothly for me, but I'm staring at Loading Screens far too often for far too long :( Just been exploring the Abandoned Huts outside the little Fort and when it takes 20secs to load an area you are in for 6secs to pick up some Loot and then 20secs to load out again there's something not quite right.

The Combat System is beyond me, I can only ever get 2nd Combo's no matter what I do, so I've pretty much given up on this and just mash away completely uninterested anymore :D

Camera is pretty awful, but I've gotten used to it now (OSD, or whatever it is)

Loving it so far though, but I think the Loading issues will make me stop playing it, they really are frustrating and immersion is taking a massive hit so the game-play feels very disjointed to me.
