the world has gone mad

I've noticed this has crept in on LinkedIN too with messages from recruiters including their preferred pronouns.

A previous company I worked for were right ***** for this ****, well mainly the Equality & Diversity Officer, but the management get lumped in too for being too spineless to tell her to shut the **** up and shove her mental illness where the sun don't shine. We had an email from HR asking us to enter our preferred pronouns into the company directory. Apparently, for reasons, 'It', 'That' and 'This' doesn't count and I got summoned to the manager's office for a rollicking as it was deemed to be a **** take, and ergo a hate crime on par with genocide. Was hilarious, you could tell that the manager thought it to be as ridiculous as I did, but he daren't say anything due to the purse lipped harridan being in the room too. :p

Imagine all this in the 90s, when did all this stuff start anyway, I must have been hibernating?

I feel the same, I'm very confused by this. I just don't get why people get offended by words like "boys / girls / ladies and gentlemen" seriously? the world has gone mad.

literally things like this that make me hate the world, it's literally gone mad. At the end of the day you're either a boy or girl, a lady or a gentleman. The thing hanging between your legs (or not) decides that, end of. How that can be offensive is beyond me. Soon people will be offended by being called a human

Equality and diversity but then get pulled in for that hahahaha

It goes on a bit, but in my opinion he speaks sense.

If you don't have time to watch it all, I'd recommend starting around 13:10.

Well, that's the thing, no-one should. Not about Laurence anyway. But since LNER are a business, they have to look like they care and support zer pronouns.

I don't think they do. MTFU, announce that you don't care and there will be a few days **** storm before everyone says "thank **** for that - someone stood up for sanity". It's like dealing with bullies or very emotional people - the more you go along with it, the more it encourages it. Push back and tell them to stop being silly and the problem tends to resolve itself.

I don't get offended. Being offended makes me unhappy.

Now other people being offended at things that have given me happiness (comedian, actor, show, etc) doesn't immediately affect me, but over the long term is sanitising the world of the things that make me happy.

My view is that people that easily take offense just want to make the world to be as equally drab and unhappy as they experience it.

I think in most cases it's a control issue. People have worked out that offense can be weaponised to gain the upper hand.

I am offended that I cannot get an RTX 3080.

Government should therefore have to get me one. For free.

First of all you have to make the RTX 3080 your god. And then construct a religion around it. Then you have to criticise the government for restricting your access to your deity.

Actually that's not a bad idea.
