The Worst Official Controller

on the dreamcast? care to mention a few? im pretty sure most dreamcast games were released on other consoles at some point in time.

i know crazy taxi was released onto other consoles after dreamcast failed, i genuinely believe it didnt have good exclusives, maybe 1 or 2 but not enough to keep the console alive, it came too late, sony had already took over

What Nokkon listed above, but tbh I'd buy a Dreamcast purely for Shenmue.

I was always a bit of a SEGA and SNK fanboy though so I'm biased.

I don't have feminine/japanese hands which is why I struggle with the PS pads.

Ill get slated for this, but I actually prefer the PS3 controller to the 360 one, especially the DS3, and I have claws for hands. I find the 360 pad too heavy, and the bulging battery on the back gets in the way of where I would normally put my fingers, so I regularly come off the 360 controller with crippled wrists. I think its probably due to me growing up with the PS controller, so Im used to the way you grip it, and i find it quite natural now.

i think thats the reason why microsoft entered the market and with their huge financial backing didnt care about losses, so long as they took the fight to sony, the one thing they havent moved into is the portable games market like the nds and psp, i hope this is possible with the next xbox and it has remote play functions too

well as i said before i cant really comment on the dreamcast, never ever played it, my thoughts on the console were, it had a poor lineup of games, sega did make some useless consoles though, can anyone say mega cd and saturn, i cant even remember those ones that well, thats how long they lasted, i think sega used to release a new console every 2 years

if i did help kill it off, its a great shame because more competition is needed in the market, if it had been a success, we would probably be in a better position than we are now

Agree with you there, im really getting an itch to buy another one since they can be had so cheaply.

lol, i doubt you would feel the same now, times have moved on, i tried playing an xbox game a few months back and then thought why in the hell did i used to play this everyday

same can be said for every game on my older consoles, as time moves on so does your expectations and older games cant live up to those

its best to leave that console buried, its rude to disturb the dead

RIP :p

I dunno played halo 2 the other day with some mates and it still had it! Brings back some memories tho was funny how the s controllers d-pad is better than the 360s.

i had this one for the Amiga .

my thumbs arent in different places to each other so why are the thumbsticks , plus i hate the d pad and think the buttons feel crap to press

sadly i have gotten used to it now just like i got used to the weird n64 ness

i love the ps pad because it was a similar shape to the snes pad that moulded my hands as a child

I totally hate the PS3 contoller, makes my left thumb hurt like ****.

Why don't they put the left thumbstick where the d-pad is, so when you hold the controller, the thumb-stick is right under your thumb, instead of stretching it out to the middle of the controller?

Thats a serious question, anyone?

Well from my point of view that would be wrong - I like the analogue sticks just where they are on the PS3 pad.

I do think that both Microsoft and Sony should allow third party controller manufacturers to make them how they want though, as this is the only reason I can see as to why we don't have a third party 360 style controller for the PS3 and vice versa.

not this old chestnut again - I have big hands and I don't struggle with the PS pad at all.

If the ps3 pad is the same dimensions as the ps2 pad then I agree, my hands are like shovels and I find the ps controller about the most comfortable i have used. 360 pad is great as well.

Yea my first thoughts were xbox and the nes cheap pos

Best for me was the dreamcast one with full size analogue triggers, great for driving games. the x360 ones are a bit too small in range
