There's a CD sitting in my porch

Didn't want to risk putting in my PC so got out an old CD player as was thinking it would be full of music but no it's blank
 
I don't see what risk putting it in your PC would have. You don't have to autorun, you can just look to see if there's any content.

Or send it to a Linux user.
 
Was thinking maybe the strange design round the outside could be something where letters are stretched and can only read at an angle in a mirror or a mirror in the centre

Or maybe it contains music in a format an old CD player won't read.

I think binning it is the answer. It's probably just a christian trying to drum up business, but maybe not.
 
Ah well, the OP did come back in the end.

Try mounting the CD in a virtual PC? In that way, you'll be running it in a sandbox.

Or find an old PC that is offline and you're not too bothered about needing to reinstall Windows if it does turn out to be a virus.
