Does this come with some paste or pre applied stuff or neither?

it'll probably come pre-applied but your best bet is to slap on some as5 as you'll get better temps

Well my Freezer came with it applied in recent times. I can't see why they would put rubbish paste on the surface when they want their heatsinks to work well. You may be able to obtain better paste but what's 1 degree between friends? lol

I bought one in early december and yes it does come pre applied, my e8400 running at 3.6ghz idles at 32 degrees on 60% fan you can only hear the fan when on full load at 39 degrees never seen it at 40degrees yet so the thermal paste it comes with must be quite good.

It comes with mx2 pre applied, i just put mine on like this as it saved the hassle of cleaning it off, and i was also worried about bodging the as5 application.

Its still pre applied but scared the hell out of me when it instantly hit 100 degrees and stayed there. A bios flash later and a more sensible 24 degrees appeared, thanks for the replies.
