Thermalright Silver Arrow Compatibility

A pressure vault is to turn more tight in the middle of the cpu for more cooling effect side but all thanks to Helios1234 told me not to bothered to use it. Without it would be fine with sandybridge.

i cranked mine to the max and its fine? as ic diamond recomends 50 pounds per inch pressure for the paste:confused:

its the lian li 7a Plus

do you think it will fit a asus p6t se mobo with 6gb ram?

well i'll be darned. i must have missed it because here it is, the 7A plus:
http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/produc...ex=154&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62&g=d

however, in their infinite wisdom, Lian Li decided it would be best not to include the maximum cooler height for their case.

the best thing you can do is measure between the motherboard and the side of the case and check how much room there is. if there's more than 168mm your in with a chance (163mm for the cooler, 5mm for the chip)

It will block the 1st slot of ram if you had the tall heatspreaders ram (much the same as Noctua NH-D14), so just beware of it.

See photo below (It not very clear picture - sorry about that):

The case is more than wide enough to accommodate the Silver Arrow. My own LL is the same width and the SA was totally fine in that. The OCZ Gold will also work perfectly as they use low profile heatspreaders. Again, I have the OCZ Platinums which are exactly the same in design bar the colour and had no issues.

Installation the cpu cooler with backplate and the plate is very easy step. The thermal paste of chill factor III is also very good. But, I went for the top best thermal paste is IC Diamond 24 instead but it not cheaper but it really worth it at the end. Kept my 4.70GHz a cooling 68C from just 1240RPM spin on the 2x140mm fans and cannot hear the fans at all. Excellent.

cheers will measure it out

I will aim for 168mm width

how about length?

dont worry about length. it will end up no where near the back of your case, and it will hang slightly over your ram going the other way.

the only thing that you may want to worry about is width, but unless your motherboard is literally wedgeed up against the top of your PSU then i wouldnt worry

Im still not 100% on it fitting, Are there any other decent cpu coolers out there, which are nearly as good but smaller? :P Unless someone has a pic or somet of it fitting :P

As I said, it did fit, but the side panel wouldn't lie totally flat, due to the fans being slightly higher than the heatsink. If you can live with that, then there's no problem, or you may be able to play around with it a bit more than me. I didn't take a picture though.

In the end, I just wanted more space, so went for the HAF.
