Thermalright Silver Arrow Compatibility

I don't mind it being out of shape really, As long as it gives me stable temps at a decent OC :)

I ain't going to tell you this again, it does full stable OC with excellent temperature with Thermalright Silver Arrow or otherwise I would complaint about it. I had no problem and so far never go above 70C for very high overclocked @ 4.8GHz.

Of course it your own decision to go for Silver Arrow or buy something else (Avoid Corsair H50, the worse high temperature and very humming sound from the pump and fan too high 1600RPM at very noisy sound).

Thermalright 2 x 140mm only do 1300RPM. (very quiet)

Installed it with 3 other fans, works a treat, although slightly pressed to the side window, It's barely even noticeable and surprisingly quiet :). Oc'n it tomorrow =]

I wouldn't bothered with 3 other fans, use your Thermalright 2 x 140mm as it work out pretty good airflow and great temp and performance!

Bit of a mini-hijack here, sorry!

Would this cooler fit a P67 Sabertooth board? I don't know if there would be any interference from the thermal armour.

I'm really happy with the temps at the moment from it, will post some up later when I get home from college, It's a nice shiny blue to, everywhere!, The silver arrow is ugly though xD

my case is small but i use corsair vengeance ram, it blocks my first slot but ive moved my ram into 2 and 4 now, pic of the silver arrow fitted in my case:

the apache black 12cm fan sucks in cold air from front of case tehn the 2 silver arrow 14cm fans blow out to back?

they are correct way around

sorry but you making me laugh... as i said the air goes stright to the back of my case.

all because i have the fans on pull rather then push, as i said i have corsair vengeance ram which is over 5cm tall hence i cant put the fans on the front else where would i put my ram as it doesnt fit under the fan

Here is mine:

I know I haven't put any fan at the back rear yet! :) Still waiting for my new 140mm fan at the back rear!

gazzaman2k - I just saw your sig 4.8GHz @ 1.3v (that pretty low vcore for 4.8GHz - you must have a cherry chip!)

Mine is 1.33vcore to get 4.8GHz but need 1.42v to get 5GHz :) What are your temp on 4.8GHz on Core 2 ?

Mine is 66C right now on core 2 when under load with prime blend

39c on core 2, core 3 is my hottest that gets a good 9c hotter then the other 3 cores on full bore.

idont have it clocked up on 4.8 all the time its on speedstep so runs mostly on 1.6 untill i use somthing which uses the power then it goes to 4.8, but its been stable on prime for 24hours so know its good, max my core 3 hits is 77c

No it not right! Wrong one mate!

Look at my picture mate you will notice the hot air (red) and the cold air (blue)

Lol, a useful technique with the SA to alleviate the RAM compatibility issue is to simply place the front fan to the back but still having it point in the same direction as gazza has done. He's not wrong.

Well I never seen anyones put the front fans in the back of the cpu cooler, that's abit rather odd and this is probably the reason he got 77C for his 4.8GHz compare to mine at 66C. I had try the same what he did but it end up 75C as I decided to put it back where I was before as it went down from 75C to 66C.

The difference in temps between you two could be a number of factors such as using different cases. Changing the position of the fan alone should not change temps that much, but on the positive side it means you can use memory with larger heatspreaders. What he has done is not odd at all, it's simply using logic.

I can't see why you would get such a big difference in temperatures by changing the orientation of the fan, not 9C anyway. If you check my own results, I can only get that sort of temperature difference if I take away both fans and run the SA passively.

Yeah I suppose you are right there Helios1234! I just waiting for an extra 140mm fan (same thermalright 140mm fan for the back rear exhaust) I manage to get rid of side fan bracket on the side windows panel on my case, as it now fit into it.
