The Thermaltake will clash with the drives aswell, since it hasn't got a door either!

At the end of the day, its your case, just please don't fool for the gimmicky 250mm fan :/

Yeh it makes it more expensive and acts as a gimmick that attracts people who think bigger is better.

As has been discussed time and time again on these forums a simple clean run of air from a 120mm at the front and out a 120mm at the back is perfect for cooling. Which just so happens to be what both the Lian Li PC7 and the Akasa Eclipse do, (the two most recommended cases on this site)
Adding more fans increases the noise, without any real benefit.

Lowers it in comparison to what, An older case? Having the fan off? Having the side of the case off?
It being silent is contrary to what I've heard before.

Sorry in comparison to me having the fan off, its a massive difference form my old case though lol the metal was warm to touch on old one, the armour is very cold to touch the metal now which im happy about lol, and mabie some ppls fans are noisy but mine only a humm when i put my ear to it, can only hear it over a noisy 80mm fan lol

lordy lordy lordy. Each time i open this thread my decision changes lol. To get the akasa and window and the 2 120 mm fans its £126. For the armor with 4 fans and window its £105. But i think i have finalllly made my decision. **** it im going for the akasa :). The side pic of your case pink floyd is just so good and i do want a nice build quality. I like on the akasa how you have to use tools to plug pci cards in and stuff. On the armor it looks like cheap plastic to clamp it down. Time to add the extra cost to the list so it now comes to a hefty £739. What have i got myself into lol

Hehe yea hes done a nice job on that case

Oh and thost plastic pci clamps on the armour yea they may look cheap and a silly colour to go with the case imo but they are really good they hold my cards in really tight with no movement, i prefere them now to having to manouver with a screwdriver, just makes stuff that little bit easier :p

changed my mind again, i deffinitely have to go for the armor because of the cost, my dad isnt happy with me selling my current case and if i told him a new one would set me back 140 he would go mental. Armor it is :)

I read that the plastic clips were really badly designed, plus I'm almost certain they can't be used with audigy sound cards due to some capacitors there or something along those lines....

GO WITH THE ECLIPSE!!!!!! :(

but its 138 quid :(. If it was an absoulte 100 % fact that the armor couldnt take my x-fi sound card well then i have to go for the akasa.

Good news, i have found the eclipse + window and 2 120 mm amber fans for a nice price so ill go for that deffinitely

Strange, i dont see why they dont come over the card or anything all they do is once the card is in they clip horizontally and just hold the metal bit on the card against the case

I think it may of only been the audigy 4, may have been wider than standard cards or something.

Good call on changing your mind back to the Eclipse!
This thread has more twists than... erm.... most things!

lol i know, you know in your case floyd, it has a big white light coming from some where, what is that and how much was it?

Hehe im 19 and when my dad asks how much i spent on etc, hes like 'WHAT' but he spends 500+ on bike accessories and thats ok lol :p he said a computer is only a computer :o should i get him disowned quick? :p

im nearly 17 and my dad wants me to save for driving lessons, my perfect excuse is "When im not working i need something to do so i spend it on something i enjoy". But if i told him im spending £700 hed try and stop me but i cant be beaten mwahha.

I've got a white cathode tube along the bottom of the case right against the edge of the case, positioned like that so you can see its light but not the source.
It was from a competitor for about £3. Buying them from this competitor is risky as often they come damaged. So you may want to order 2 sets to be sure, or alternatively order branded ones at a higher price.

Nice amount of money to have to spend for a 16 year old, wish I had that much back then.....
I slowly bit by bit put this pc together, Before coming to uni I had plenty of money spare, and I had no interest in driving (had no need for a car, everything within walking and cycling distance back home) so spent the money on computer hardware.

really looking forward to have a nice looking case with some nice hardware inside :). Hopefully ill get £100 for my coolermaster atc and then sell my current cpu mobo and ram and it wont be as bad.

hehe yea £700 is nice at that age lol when i was 17 i was doing a paper shop job and that could barely buy me a game each month and petrol for the bike lol, but now ive got a full time job for the mo i seem to have to spend more on other things, thought having more money i *** spend on nicer things :( lol but thats prob just the way it goes lol :p
