Thermostat E46 problem?

Glad you got it sorted. Mine is in tuesday for the exact same thing. It's Jez's old 330 so its been like that since i picked it up in March.

Again same thing, BMW dealer said was normal. So this thread and spoke to my indy and he said dud thermostat and to bring it in before it went!

Ce la vie lol

Wow sorry dude, i didnt even mention it at time of sale as i had had the main dealer assure me that it was ok, so i never even thought about it since.

Hows it in general anyway? :) Nice car twas that.

Not an issue at all, got told the exact same from my local dealer.

Its going superb still, just over 140k and only cost me an oil service and now the thermostat. Plus on my 2nd set of new boots! oops

All in all a great purchase and still love it! So cheers!

On 140k and through 2 sets of boots, naughty naughty ;)

Glad its all going well, although i am not overly suprised given the previous owner of it, its had a very easy life. :)

Well just driven 1 junction up the motorway at 32'C on the heater, needle stayed put 12'oclock. The heat pumping out of the vents now is immense, it burns!

Will be taking this into the dealers on Wednesday. Took him an hour in the end, bleeding etc! But actual thermostat took 20 mins, hardly a lot for the dealer to check. Alls he did was do a like for like comparison. Mine was broke, not rocket science

glad you have it sorted. However are you not concerned about posting a sheet detailing the model, reg and full VIN number on the internet? I know some people are shy about posting just the reg plate, but this is an invitation for ringing.

VIN number and reg number are connected so with either you can get both :)
