Thick neighbours

I guess you could dress as a giant sparrow and do a boxing stance at his door after you did a very milky poo through his letter box....would that help?

It's been years.

Because people are afraid they might do damage when in fact they're harmless. You'll get s small amount of poop that'll wash away in the rain, that's about it.
I suppose some people don't like the sound of birds, or wildlife in general and have a black empty hole where their heart's meant to be.

**** wildlife when it gets in the way of humans, right?

For most birds - if you get Seagulls nesting there though you might change your tune :P
