Thief

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed to see a game reveal of a beloved franchise.

Easily one of my favourite series of all time, but I don't get on with VR. Fingers crossed it's a good experience for the fans that do, maybe we'll get a non-vr version down the line.

as a person who gets motion sick with VR and old enough to remember Thief 1 and 2 when they released...

I'm miffed that this is a VR experience (with the correct voice for Garrett no less)

This had made me very happy. I really hope they do not mess this up.

As a fan of the original Looking Glass (anyone remember them?) games I still remember "Down in the Bonehoard" and "the cradle" to this day (though that was Ion Storm).

Edit - As above, it sounds like they are using the same Garrett voice actor, has also just made my day.

I suspect this will get the same reception as batman Arkham Shadow from long time fans.

If it turns out to be on a similar level, it'll be amazing.

For those who don't get on with vr, when was the last time you tried and what did you do? So many people just seem to throw their friends into a rollercoaster experience which is about the worst thing you could do.

With a little bit of perseverance the vast majority will get over that sickness you know, might be time to try again?

For those saying they are unhappy that this is VR only, how do you think us VR gamers feel when time after time after time big games are released with no VR version? Almost all big titles aren't VR. Edit : after all we all know VR is THE way to game nowadays and will eventually rule all gaming :D it's just so much more immersive than looking at a 2D monitor :p

Big fan of Thief (1&2), big fan of VR... but I'm not sure the two will work so well together. VR games are, for the most part, still janky and built around sloppy, imprecise control schemes. That won't fit well with what is essentially Dishonoured VR.
Nice to have Stephen Russell back, although I was always a fan of Romano Orzari anyway.

Hmm not so sure about that, there's been many native Quest VR games with good control schemes, Batman, Metro, Alien, AC Nexus (ok the combat was meh), Into Black, ITR, Red Matter 1 & 2, Ghost Town, Behemoth, TWD Saints & Sinners, Underdogs, Asgards Wrath 2, Bonelab, etc (that's not mentioning the PCVR stuff like Alyx etc, idk if Thief is PCVR?). Yes there's been lots of carp too but I'm optimistic, I think Thief could be good, it's being made by a studio, it might be decent.

Old release now called Unknightly, a great taster on how the formular does translate. Game was fairly devoid of progression or any story, one of those indy effort more a tech demo from back in the day.

Good to see another well renowned IP getting a credible stab at it from a dedicated VR publisher, the trailer looks impressive.

Yep you just gotta push through it. It'll go away. I still get it with only 1 game called "Detached".

This looks good though, I hope it's more than an hour long

That looks amazing. Seems to have a really nice feel to it, and the fact that it is VR from he ground up could mean a really great experience - definitely crossing fingers!
