Hi lads, what do you think of this situation?

I got a delivery today which my mum signed for as I was at work. I got home and opened the box and found that an item was missing, the item is only £7 but its the principle. So are citylink thieving scum or is this just a case of OCUK warehouse pickers human error...?

Anyone with any sense would surely not risk a criminal record/conviction, loss of a job and the joy of having to declare said conviction to future employers/insurers etc. for £7 ? If the box was sealed then it's a picking error. if it wasn't sealed then get on the blower to City Link.

*edit* Actually it's City Link ... what am I saying of course they stole it ;) JOKE!

Ordered a keyboard and was to be deleivered by citylink before, they said it went "missing" and to come back tomorrow, so went back he said they had found it but it had fallen off the shelf so was damaged.... the box was ripped open and in a terrible state, although the keyboard was still in it. Told them i wouldn't be signing it and to send it back

Well, the box was intact when i got it, but! it was taped up with that jobbie brown tape so they could have easily cut it then taped it back up. If it was a tea leaf then honestly why steal something at 7 quid expecially when my 4870x2 was in the same box!!
Yes the item was on the invoice and there was a pen tick next to it.

Firstly if the brown tape was ripped of it would rip the top layer of cardboard of with it - so you could tell before you even opened it yourself if it had been resealed.

Sounds like packer-error, from what you had in the box and what was actually taken.

Ring the company. Explain situation. get replacement. Move on with life.

You think thats bad. I went to collect a phone from the City Link Depot. After waiting 30 mins for them to find it, they came back and said that they have had a problem with staff members stealing packages, especially phones, so mine has probably been stolen. It was on the saturday, and I got told, if nothing arrives by Monday, call us on Tuesday. What a joke.

I order a gfx card couple of years back which was supposedly delivered and signed for but had not arrived. Kicked off big time and low and behold it turned up the following day. Van drivers cannot always be trusted as a lot are contractors. Always get yourself delivered to a work address.

Citylink - I once had a monitor delivered by them that I'd bought from another online retailer. Despite the "Fragile" and "Electronics - Handle With Care" stickers, it still managed to arrive at the house with a rather large footprint on the box. Amtrak did manage to take the biscuit though, writing off a Samsung 32" LCD telly in transit that we bought about 18 months ago.

If it was the driver who nicked it he was obviously a bit oblivious to technology taking the £7 item instead of your 4870x2 :p

Just contact OCUK if there aren't any obvious signs of someone tampering with the box then chances are it's just a human error.

it's pretty unlikely... are you sure the £7 item is not so small (ie SD card) that you missed it in packing ?

every christmas we lose at least 1 PC that just totally goes missing at our courier... gets checked into hub and never seen again. guess it sorts someones family xmas present...

happened to me when i bought my xonar d2 a few years back. just get on to them, they have (or did have at least) cameras in the packing area to check for things like this. were only human at the end of the day lol

Phone them, they will be able to check stock levels against what they have sold/received. If packer missed it they will have one extra, if packer packed it they will get onto citylink. Not your issue really, 2min phone call!
