things at work that make you cringe?

People who discuss work out of hours, such as in the pub.

A guy at my place who is supposedly intelligent constantly uses phrases such as 'that's the thing' 'no problem' 'one time' and 'literally' in sentences where it makes no sense.

For example, I'll ask if he wants a coffee. He always replies "yes, that'll be good" ALWAYS and when I give him said drink he usually says "ah, no problem" I mean, wtf?!

People who get excited about the most mundane of things at work. Also, people at my place who enjoy their work. I hate it. Its ****

Scotty123 damn man if you would see how some of stuff i cook looks..... Kebab is masterpiece compared to it :D

at my workplace the managers are ******* ridiculess, when i sit up in the office to fill in some paper work both of them are in there talking absoulte BS. complete waste of money.

also workers who act like ******* slaves, yes sir no sir type of thing.

example

a women was stood on a pallet to reach up to a product, and some numpty who is paid a good salary comes up to her and tells her to get off, she replies with, yes im very sorry i should have known better it will not happen again. i mean wtf just say ok.

also people who tell you what to do when they have no clue.

example

we had a meeting with office staff on our paperwork and procedures, basically one thing was that we where not aloud to pull in a pallet of spud/onion before we take off the wraping. i raised the issue that 750kg of produce that is upright in 15kg bags being pulled in over bumps is not stable and that if we did that it would just topple over, its ******* commensense not rocket science. there reply was, o well you will just have to put it in steal bins. so i interjected again with we do not have enough bins we are already short, and where are we meant to put said bins there is barely enough room as it is. to which they said we will contact the supplyers and get them to put it in a big plastic bin. that was last year has anything changed no will anything change no. and the company wonder why they are loosing money they are ******* incompented and stupid.

mayor face palm and cringe

anyways big meeting with the MD tomorrow so we will see what BS he comes out with.

A complete failure to realise that gossiping and messing around with other peoples lives causes nothing but gonads and strife, then go on to try and cause more pain when everything goes haywire as a consequence of their own actions.

Of course not all of them are like that, but it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the whole barrel.

You reap what you sow folks.

Manager's/Director's secretaries. FAR worse than the actual managers themselves. Purely because they think they're somehow super important just because they do the typing for someone important.

I call them the "don't you know who I am?!?" brigade. One of the senior directors at our place has this really annoying older PA who seems to think she can make otherwise unreasonable demands such as bringing her home PC in every week to get it fixed and when she does so saying that the (completely unrelated to last time) fault must have been something we've done

I would *love* to onetime forget to put her on mute when she calls in and gives it the whole "don't you know who I am?" routine and ask loudly around the office "this person doesn't seem to know who she is, can anyone help her?" but it would probably spell the end of my job :(

Banal job titles. By the Gods does this country love a good job title. Like the 'Senior Color Technical Adviser' aka, hair dresser down the road. Give it another year and she'll be a hair engineer.

But at work, the usual, banal business babble by nobodies. Endless meetings about sweet F.A. Brain storming sessions where half the people don't really have a working brain. Company parties where you get the watch the boss get tanked and the idiots suck up.

HR, oh my God. What a worthless bunch of self important jerk offs. Half their requests for stupid nonsense I blatantly ignore and nothing ever comes of it since they don't care themselves.

I've sort off stopped getting involved with anything or anyone at work. Luckily I don't go into the office too often.

A boss in a previous job, who labelled himself as 'The IT Director' even though he wasn't a director had a sign behind his desk.

Genius is.. 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration

Personally, I don't really agree with this in the IT environment..

He once called a team meeting for all of IT to show us one of those crappy powerpoint presentations that you get in junk email with 'fails' on. wtf

Everything that came out of his mouth was wrong or complete garbage. Glad to be shot of him!

My current bosses are awesome :) makes a huge difference

As much as I hate management jargon, it is a requirement if you want to progress in many careers. :/

What makes me sad though is that I am looking to move to a new job, and there are a high number of utter fitties here in the office.

The words/phrases

Kick it into touch.
Credentails

Aswell as our technician helping the kids with a simple problem, he delves into the network into great detail. The blank look they have is astonishing.

Because they really don't care, they just want the problem fixed.

I'll touch base with you after this thought shower tête à tête. We'll be doing some serious blue sky thinking outside of the box, but I really think we're on to something.

I hate people who are bad at their jobs, and try to blame other people for their mistakes. If you mess up, own it.

Everyone is a consultant or director these days! Or a 21 year old entrepreneur. Officer seems quite a common title as well. 'Officer for flexible learning'. Erm what?

Brown nosers, and people who fart, then say "oops deary me" with a room full of people.

People who are bad at their jobs, but make it look like they are good, then try and blame their mistakes on other people.

Also people who laugh with an over exaggerated laugh because they think they are so so so so funny, when in actual fact, they are a plank

I hate people that work really hard, miss lunches e.t.c. Makes the rest of us look bad.

Funny thing is over the years these people are often made redundant or forced out, all that hard work for nothing, makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
