I like them, why ban them?

See no point in banning them execpt for some mad personal reason? Don't like it, don't go in it. Simples.

I like the threads but some of the things people post is pointless such as a Tickets or Pictures of meat they bought from the butchers.

I've often seen things in them that have been interesting or bargainous, so I would like them to remain. Having said that, perhaps it'd be better to have an all-encompassing thread rather than a new one each month.
Agree with all in one thread
They are a bit annoying with the same old people posting crap, Oh look mrk has bought a new watch strap, Cosimo has bought another book on Space and a tablet.

A.N.Other has bought a solid state drive!!!

Bores the **** off me but having said that there have been a few gems and I've thought mmmm that's cool and then gone and bought something similar but in general they're ****.

Ahahaha. Don't forget the anime guy.

Ive sen some great suggestions/ options from looking through them so deffo keep them, how can people get upset about a thread on an internet forum that they dont have to partake in, in any way what so ever?

I dont go into the Apple section an complain about it being on the forum.

I might as well also ask that I hate all the relationship threads created cause some bloke has lost his balls...yea...ban them..cause I dont like them.

For some reason I was under the impression that the threads were removed at the end of each month / replaced with the new months' thread.

While much of the posting may be inane to some, to exclude certain items and not others would (from my point of view) seem unfair. One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that.

Must suck if you have to sit there and read through it all though! :D

Make the newest member of the team do it... ;)

I think they're kinda silly, but it's not like it's total spam taking up a bunch of threads.....so it's no effort for me to just ignore them. I voted for the 1 thread for "things bought recently" - seems like the best option.

But just for poos and giggles, you should permaban everybody who has ever posted in one :)

Why ban them, its nice to see what members have bought on here.

There's plenty of worse threads I'd rather be banned on here but I choose to simply ignore them rather than call for a ban.

I don't get why people get a hard-on for starting each month's threads, but I like browsing the threads to see what cool stuff peeps have bought. :)

BAN THEM!!

They keep reminding me how I have no money :o

I'm indifferent really, sometimes you get the occasional interesting thing that makes you go "ohh shiny".

I have actually purchased items people have posted in the thread before because I didn't know they existed/liked what people purchased. Some of these items were sold on OcUK so by banning the threads you would actually be doing OcUK out of some sales.

One big thread about purchases however would be fine.

I think they're pointless but that opinion goes for plenty of threads so that's not quite reason enough to ban them. If it keeps it all in one place then I suppose I'm grudgingly in favour of them but really whether they stay or go doesn't bother me too much - I've got no interest in posting in them but nor do I have any major objections to them either.

I only have 3 straps you gimp.

I mean Mr Gimp.

If anything TIAM needs banning. What exactly is the point of it? At least buying stuff thread serves a purpose in that people do see things that look interesting and end up buying themselves.

I think they're fine.

It gives a place for people to show off their stuff, talk about new geeky purchases etc.

They are threads that grow, keep people talking, positing pictures and certainly don't normally go crazy OT causing lots of abuse and crap. So all in all, I see them as a good addition to the GD forum.

They don't bother me. I've never read one but I can't imagine why they'd cause that much offence. There are far more obnoxious things on this forum than "Things bought in ..." threads.

No. They're a great thread but Jaffa_Farfetched making them completely ruins it.

Have a mod do it, or someone assigned to make them at the start of each month. Or just one big thread, started by a mod. Don't mind.
