Backplate i/o shields are a curse, on an evga 680i sli board i had, the i/o shield was that bad a fit i had to file it to fit in the akasa eclipse case i had at the time.i forget to fit the front panel connectors at the start of the build (as there much easier to fit without all the rest of the cables in the way)
never forgot to fit the backplate but i wonder why the stock plate (with the case) NEVER FITS any mobo i want to use![]()
i was using the light on my mobile phones camera mode to aid me when plugging in all of the front panel connectors etc and i forgot to take it out again lol.
i found it about half an hour after searching all the boxes

I've forgotten the back plate before. I also have a habbit of turning the PSU off at the back and forgetting i've done it which then leads to 2 minutes of confusion when i hit the power button and nothing happens.
