Went to Tesco just to buy some booze.
There are some signs up saying from May (iirc) it is think 25 or you get ID'ed.

I have just turned 21 and in no possible way could I be 17. This seems a bit OTT and I do think the government has more important things to be doing!!

It is quite possible for 25 year old men to have no hair left and be completely grey.

Unless you look >=25 you will be ID's to prove you are at least 18

With the harsh penalties levied on the off-licence and the individual tellers if they accidentally sell to some-one under the age of 18, I don't blame them.

I think it's a great idea. Th harder it is for chavs to get alcohol the better.

Solution to your worry? Just carry a card I.D in your wallet and never be bothered again. Simple.

It is the stores protecting themselves, not the government. Really doesn't bother me, takes 2 seconds to take ID out.

I think that it is a good idea, but its not just an extra 5 seconds, a lot people don't think its necessary carrying around ID, I certainly don't.

My Nan got asked for ID by the jobsworth idiot on the checkout when she was buying two bottles of Brandy just before Christmas. Apparently, the fact that she's a little 4'8" white haired old lady, only a couple of years of getting the card from the Queen, doesn't mean anything.

To be honest, we had to laugh as she had no ID on her at the time and I had to step in.

Just remember that the people serving you don't like it anymore than you do. At least you don't get flak day-in day-out for it.

I have never been ID'd in my life, not once. Maybe its because I normally have fashionable stubble, that must fool the people that serve me, because I am in fact only 13 years old.
