I think i may of been scammed on e..y.
my bro wont be giving me his card in jan as his planned to because he wont be coming home early as thought.
I look on auction sites for a 4870x2(As much as my dad said just buy new he would pay the rest.) and i think ive made a mistake.
My dad let me use his e..y account for me to bid on a card. it was advertised as a sapphire 4870x2 i read it all and thought i would bid. well i won it and now my dads read it and say theres things on there that dont make sense. plus the seller wont except returns it shows a picture of a radeon 4870x2 and the seller said he got it from ocuk. He phoned up for me today to see if they could check serial numbers but they cant. sapphires web page shows no card with the ati radeon sticker on just the women like on my dads and bro's.
Please help as it a lot of money to waste if it just a radeon and not a sapphire like he clamed.

What do you want the OcUK community to do about it? Why don't you contact the auction site and see if they can help. I'd say it was early days yet, see if you receive anything. If it was advertised correctly there's not much you can do, otherwise you could complain.

You're not the only one. i bought a 8800ultra off there. it turned out to be a gtx with a ultra stock cooler crudely put on. Got a full refund and the seller was band...
No offense but you cant trust that place, and you should have listened to your dad
The bad ones always rec it for the ones that are true.
But we all have to learn some of use the hard way

So you got a 4870x2?

IS THAT MENT FOR ME^^
I mean like ati radeon 4870x2/ Sapphire 4870x2 different companys

Did you read my post at all???

Radeon is ATI's brand name given to all gaming GPUs

Sapphire is the manufacturer's name. So the full title would be a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870X2

as anything you should read everything carefully, and then get someone else to look if you are not sure.

you entered into an agreement as soon as you bid, unfortunately it would swing his way unless there is some kind of deception/fraud.

but as pointed out, radeon is the make ;), just like GeForce / GTX

sapphire is the brand, like XFX, asus, evga etc

The ad looks fine.

As someone who sells computer components on ebay, all I can do is *sigh*.

Also, you don't get any warranty from sapphire anyway as a second user.

I did read it right at first...

You got a Radeon 4870X2 by the brand name Sapphire. Listen to elpedro.
