Ordered January 22nd 2013 OcUK said they'll send it back to Palit and see what they say......

i wont hold my breath if it was just OcUK dealing with it it'd be sorted in a few days but put Palit in the mix..... tumbleweed no doubt
Just incase this thread gets locked because of people changing the subject to how AMD is awesome over Nvidia, and visa-versa...

Can you let us know how long the RMA went with Palit in this thread >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18231329

Thanks :)

haha who cares which is better AMD or Nvidia we all make our choice based on our personal experiences....

they both do great work we wouldn't be playing games that look so amazing without one or the other pushing each other it's a blip maybe a driver issue maybe just a compatibility issue they'll sort it out.

i just feel for the folks that dont have a warranty :(

AMD make Nvidia better
Nvidia make AMD better

imagine just one company selling us £2k graphic cards every 5 years

Yes but all this arguing does kill threads

Have to say I have no idea why I post around here any more as the last 2-3 days have shown its completely ludicrous the level of preconception of my stance and what I'm saying some people have that they will state what they think I'm saying even when my posts are extremely simple and categorically stating the complete opposite to what they are claiming and its just pulling threads down into arguements when I make even the most innocuous of comments. I'd been through a period of posting less due to it but for some reason started posting more again recently. Think I'm gonna take a break from posting again indefinitely as its not very productive.

Well with two threads recently closed due to arguments/discussions about pretty much the same thing, doesn't help the poor chap who's GPU has just died and he has posted here to get advice not to listen to an argument discussion that might get his thread closed.

I have never ever claimed the experience with nVidia is flawless, ever. FACT. The fact that they've also had problems of their own does not automatically make the experience with both equal.

I've not even said AMD's drivers are terrible and unfixably broken and should be avoided yada yada either, I've said comparatively they have provided a lesser experience over the last 7 or so years.

You made a statement in effect,- that: overall Nvidia drivers are still better, but more went on to suggest anyone who says otherwise is untruthful.

Well my experience is exactly that no one is worse than the other. and that is all I said.

The offender crying wolf...

That wasn't what I was taking exception to, but you've since edited the post I was taking exception to so it doesn't come off in the same way.

Regardless its tiresome how often it happens, sometimes it can be forgiven if people don't browse these boards as often as I do and don't see half my posts but when it happens literally 2 posts after a post where I've very plainly stated the opposite (which has happened multiple times recently) its just getting silly. (I'm not picking out any 1 person here).

EDIT: To give an example, look at the comments I've made in regards to the 320.18 drivers, inevitably in a few days there will be people claiming in subsequent topics that I was defending them til I was blue in the face regardless of what I've actually posted on the topic.

Hope you get your problems sorted out swiftly ImMrChris. :)

Neil's looking serious as ever in the trekie picture btw.:p

Didn't really want to get involved in this thread tbh, but I'll set the record straight from my pov.

This finally kills off the 'Nvidia have superior drivers' myth.

Not really, its likely to severely damage their reputation going forward depending on how they handle it. It doesn't change anything upto this point.

tommybhoy's claim I was saying nVidia's reputation would still be intact despite categorically stating the opposite in 2 posts right before his

I didn't, what I wrote and your interpretation of what I actually said:

When you are of the opinion that Nvidias superior all round driver fallacy is still intact in regards despite another gpu killing driver and blatant driver issues regarding stutter in general with the 6 series, nothing is going to change your reasoning I imagine.:)

Both Nvidia/AMD could/should do a lot more in general instead of having driver failings of some kind(some catastrophic to the point of destruction), for the monies charged, we as customers should have far better support.

They both can do better, one person is claiming one is 'better' here, and that wasn't me.;)

:)

It gets a little tiresome when people read my posts as what they expect/want me to be saying and then try to use them against me in that manner despite what I'm saying not being that at all i.e. humbug's accusation that I don't believe nVidia drivers to have any problems at all or tommybhoy's claim I was saying nVidia's reputation would still be intact despite categorically stating the opposite in 2 posts right before his, or the whole deal with regards to the 600 series in that other thread where right after I twice stated very clearly that the 600 series had some issues several people literally only a few posts later were trying to claim I was saying the 600 series had no problems at all.

This is the biggest problem lately. It seems you HAVE to be either AMD or Nvidia and neutral isn't allowed. Any post is pulled out of context and seen how the attacker wants it to be seen and then the rest join in.

Very tiresome.

This is a thread regarding NVIDIA GTX670 and the potential issues surrounding NVIDIAs latest driver. There is no need for discussion or comparison to AMD drivers. Please keep this on topic. - w3bbo
