Thinking about fronting? read this first....

You're just heartless. :p I would have little sympathy if he had crashed it due to his own error and there was 100% proof that he was infact fronting. But some **** has nicked it off the drive. That has little bearing on the payout cost versus the extra premium on the insurance in the grand scheme of things when the insurance co rape him for market value below what's owed on finance. He would prob still be in negative equity as he owes £30k inclusive of the interest due.

Thats pretty impressive tbh, but I just want a normal hatchback car thats good on fuel and reliable, not a classic old mini. How you can't get a similar cost on a normal car is a joke. How does driving a mini instead of a corsa for example mean your £1000 less likely to crash? Even if I did front I would have paid more than you so how am I in the wrong?

How long do you intend fronting for? Without NCB (which you won't get fronting) you won't see a massive price drop til about 25. My first insurance was at 21 after uni when I did actually become the primary driver of a car. It was about a grand for a 10 year old crappy Pug 309 diesel tank that was worth around the same as the insurance itself.

Add your parents as named driver to get NCB, it's the only way to get your costs down quickly and will be better for you in the long run.

Update for all you young drivers... got my quote with bell down to £624 fully comp for next year. I might run a few quotes through on "normal" cars to see what I'd be paying with those.

My accident makes only £4 of difference.. what the hell? I was expecting a big couple of hundred quid bump for being a statistic who crashed in his first year driving.

I don't intend on fronting, I'm just ranting about insurance, and suggesting things to lower my insurance. I will have to do it the proper way when it comes down to it.

Even with a NCB, it wont be below £1000 unless your over 25 true.

Sigh, Insurance is high for a reason for young drivers, easier to make everyone pay high insurance at that age, plus it makes some of them think about how much its costing them and the privileged it is to drive sensibly on the roads.

Fronting is just another crime that the country would be better if it never existed but it does and I have no sympathy for people that do it and get stung.

I can insure an MX5 for under £1300 too. Unfortunately can't get quotes on much more powerful due to not being 21 :p

Got insured on my Celica for £880 (ish). 22, No NCB and my first policy in my name. Not too bad.

Looking forward to when i'm over 25. then it might actually make sense to get something actually quite fast.

Some very interesting points to pick out on those links. He states 'drives like a dream' except it appears to have a squeaky noise....

Seems like he got stung big time, I wouldn't put it past it being a sham to be honest to get him out of a sticky situation, I mean come on, the guy pushes him to the ground and she stays on the ground long enough for the crim to get in the car, start the car and drive off without him having any opportunity to stop him.

The initial shock I bet, its hard to know how anybody would react to something like this, yes its easy to say sitting here on our computers but until you are in a situation like this you cannot say how anybody will react etc.

It all seems a little fishy, he asks about BMW buying cars back, it's on finance which an HPI would show so potential buyers would be a little wary of said car, then all of a sudden along comes a buyer who snatches the keys from him and makes off with the car.
